  1. Tim Mead tweeted: With surgery on horizon today, Don Baylor's lone question earlier was how he was going to get to clubhouse on crutches!! #Toughasnails
  2. My friend and I couldn't believe this happened, especially OPENING DAY. All the best to Don.
  3. Like I said going into the year, I had major concerns about the bullpen. Had a fun time at the game and will follow my Halos til the end, but my expectations were and are reserved heading into this year after 4 years of nothing. Hope some young guys pan out and they can win, but I've learned from 2012 and 2013 to just watch and not expect anything.
  4. I didn't know Vladdy would be there (was busy all day so if it was reported I didn't read it) so I was so excited when I saw him. The second the thing with Baylor happened though, my buddy and I were speechless.
  5. The game was a trainwreck and the bullpen looked like dog shit, but I had a fun time, it is opening day. The Baylor/Vlad thing was one of the strangest things I've ever seen at a game, hope he's okay. Tailgated before the game as well.
  6. If the game's at home I generally go, outside of some years. I've been to 8-10 opening days/home openers in the last 12-13 years. When actual opening day is on the road for us though I find some way to watch. I remember in 2006 staying home 'sick' from school to watch. Last year the game was at 1PM our time I believe, and I got out of class in Orange at Chapman at 12:50PM. I somehow got back to the Irvine area by by 1:05PM to see first pitch. Running to my car may or may not have been involved. I'll be at the game tonight. Have school during the day unfortunately, was easier to play hooky in elementary-high school.
  7. If you're one of the big market teams in LA/New York/Boston/Philly, 2-4 years without results doesn't cut it.
  8. No, the team hasn't made the playoffs the last 2 years. If the team makes the playoffs, he stays. If not he and Scioscia should be gone (though this should have been the case last year), though I'm sure it'll just be Dipoto.
  9. He's a modern day Edward R. Murrow.
  10. I'll likely spend 25-30 bucks for decent 500 level seats for opening day. In 2012 the same seats for the opener cost 65-70 bucks.
  11. I haven't caught all of the spring training games recently but from what I've seen Albert's been looking real good defensively.
  12. I wish you had been right. I just looked at a 4.70 ERA though and his recent numbers and they didn't look good, especially for a 2 year deal. I wouldn't have given Dipoto half as much crap if it'd been 1 year.
