  1. Official announced attendance was 38,000 but there weren't that many there. The lousy play is keeping people home. The stadium was packed most nights in the 2000's regardless of weather.
  2. Trade him to North Korea for Kim Jong-un, and make him manager. We'll go 160-2.
  3. Crowd looked like 30,000 or so, definitely noticeable empty seats. People left in droves in the 7th, then the 8th.
  4. Alden Gonzalez tweeted: Was Hector Santiago surprised to be taken out after 83 pitches? "Definitely. ... I don't wanna say upset, but I was definitely shocked." Scioscia said his upper back was starting to tighten up, but Santiago said it bothered him in the fifth and went away by the 6th. #Angels Note: If you want to move this to the postgame thread that's fine, but I wasn't sure if quotes from players should be separate, because otherwise I'm not sure what we can post threads on after a game.
  5. By the way for those who consider me a 'Failo,' I heard some real negative talk at the game today. I overheard some guy when I was in line for food saying, "I don't know which game was shittier, Monday's or Tuesday's." These guys were heckling Hamilton, I do some sarcastic stuff but these guys were saying 'Hamilton for President, we love drugs too!' Lots of talk from fans around about how bad the team has been underperforming last few years. Somebody yelled 'Overpay and underplay.' When this one guy was ranting on Hamilton I said to him he's sure getting a lot of money to shove his finger up his butt. He said he's probably shoving it up his wife's butt.
  6. Most boring game I've been to in awhile. Made Monday's game look like the 2002 World Series. Always nice to go to the stadium, but I was field level tonight and sensed the same lacadacical vibe from last year. Scioscia needed to go last year, and Dipoto has done an awful job with the pitching staff.
  7. I see a pillow being added to the desk soon. I think Mike might motivate the team better by sleep-talking.
  8. Hopefully it's Scioscia talking about our guys 'finding some holes' and not the other way around.
  9. Anybody else notice that Mike now has a desk in front of him in the dugout in his favorite spot? It might have been there before and I just didn't notice.
  10. I told my Dad opening day 2002 after Colon shut us out, "It's not our year." I also bought an 8x10 of Aaron Sele that day so I clearly didn't know jack shit.
  11. Like I mentioned in the chat, I wish we'd taken more fliers on guys (while being smart about it) and could find a way to get some good bargains in the pen. Like say a guy like Frankie, who only got 3 million. Somehow Andrew Friedman does it every year with the likes of Fernando Rodney and Kyle Farnsworth, and they find a way to get milage out of guys like that.
  12. I can understand people who lose interest, this is an entertainment thing afterall. But for me I just love watching baseball, and I don't have the heart to be a bandwagoner.
  13. We all want them to play well, but baseball is a game like that. Everybody has their views, and reactions based on sample sizes. I just have fun watching the games no matter what, win or lose. I love baseball. If they're winning (which I MUCH prefer) I get to watch Jered Weaver mowing guys down or Mike Trout crushing a home run, if they're struggling I find the humor in it to find entertainment value. Or a friend and I will ballbust each other about how our teams are doing. But anyways, the bottom line is go Angels.
  14. I'm not being sarcastic with this thread, 100% sincere because I think it should be said as we get started with the season. Regardless of this 0-2 start, if we turn it around or continue with a slow start, it's nice to have baseball back and to be able to shoot the breeze with you guys. I know many of us have differing views on management and what not but I think before anybody gets too ugly or whatever, we should all just remember we're all fans of the same team and we're watching for entertainment, despite our differing views. We're all hoping for the best tomorrow, and for the rest of the season. Go Angels!
  15. Thanks. Love my Halos, wore my Angels shirt to school today and got ball busting from some fans of other teams. The best thing you can do though when they lose like this is laugh. It's entertainment after all.
  16. I kind of wish Weaver was a player/manager. He's a true leader.
  17. I think what he said was dumb. If others don't, people can feel free to disagree like you did.
  18. I'm just putting what he said. If people find it boring that's up to them.
  19. Real Scioscia postgame quotes: "Justin Smoak, give him credit." "Give [Ramirez] credit for getting out of that inning. He changed speeds and pitched better." "Tonight we hit a couple balls that didn't really fly in to holes with runners in scoring position."
