  1. We were in it, so it automatically beats the last 4 years. Even as bad as we choked.
  2. I was there, incredible game. While Mathis was one of the worst Angels hitters of the last decade, I'll always have fond memories of his performance in that game.
  3. Having baseball withdrawals already because of this.
  4. I really thought we'd make a playoff run. I even scheduled my month around the concept of us getting deep in the playoffs by skipping out on getting some concert tickets. Definitely miss the team. Hell I would have at least liked an extra game on Monday.
  5. I was at Game 5 of the 2005 ALDS, that was another great one. I'll never forget Colon blowing out his arm and Santana coming in fairly quickly. I think if we had kept Troy Glaus we could have won the World Series that year, just didn't have enough offense against the White Sox. I was also at the Mathis walkoff game against the Yankees in the 2009 ALCS, and at Game 3 of the 2002 ALDS (one of the best games I've ever attended), so I'm 3-0 at Angels vs. Yankees playoff games.
  6. This was my favorite Angels playoff memory ever barring 2002.
  7. John Lackey is on MLB Network's Intentional Talk right now, and they asked him if he ever got pissed about being pulled from a game. He said he wasn't happy with being pulled in the 2009 ALCS against the Yankees because 3 guys scored after. "I wasn't real happy about that, but things happen. Me and Scioscia had a little meeting in the office after that, we always got along great, we shook hands, and it was all cool afterwards."
  8. I know, I'll always have good memories of the regular season from this year, but bad memories of the playoffs. The biggest positive is that we hadn't won the division in 4 years. I probably hadn't celebrated a division win like that since 2004 or 2005.
  9. A lot of guys stepped up this year. Shoemaker, Richards, Calhoun, the guys in the pen, they absolutely changed the direction of this organization and made them contenders again, mad respect to them. I'll always have fond memories of attending the division clincher, but getting swept by Kansas City is such a waste.
  10. I think we had the pieces to win the World Series, even with injuries. A lot of guys stepped up out of nowhere, guys I would have never predicted.
  11. Hey it's fair game, Scioscia took Hamilton's career numbers out of context when putting together these lineups.
  12. One of the highest payrolls in baseball and 1 playoff appearance in 5 years.
  13. "We did a lot of things well in this series, we just didn’t finish them off." "CJ’s stuff looked good."
  14. Thank you for actually showing up to play in the ALDS!
  15. I thought Pujols' postgame comments were even worse than Scioscia's. He basically said they're playing fine and just need luck to go their way.
  16. The Captain is getting married! http://www.people.com/article/derek-jeter-wedding-buzz-hannah-davis Could a big bash reportedly planned this weekend in New York actually be Derek Jeter's wedding? TMZ reports a party is booked at Long Island's historic Oheka Castle, where scenes from 1941 classic Citizen Kane were shot. According to the outlet, high-end vendors will be throwing a "Derek Jeter event," and the site's sources are split: Some say it's a retirement party for the Yankee (who played his final game for the New York Yankees on Sunday), while others insist it's a wedding. Jeter, 40, has been dating the St. Thomas-born model Hannah Davis, 24, for a couple of years, but the pair has yet to announce an engagement. Last October she was briefly spotted wearing what looked like a diamond engagement ring on a run to Starbucks for coffee.
  17. I actually think Sunday will be another close game. Hopefully we come out on top though.
  18. Rex cast a hex on this team when he was fired. Tonight is The Revenge of the Wonderdog.
