the Angels should encourage vans with wrap around ads to the stadium parking lot -- could generate more interest than the Angels on the field.

I was thinking about getting season tickets for 2018 but didn't see any Angels season ticket ads on wrap around vans in the parking lot last time I was there, so I think I'll pass.

Greinke was never more than a rental to us -- and he wasn't much of a rental as he got hurt his first or second start and by the time he was back in our rotation, the Angels were pretty much out of the race. Greinke wanted (and got) a boat load of money for a long term deal -- the Halos were never going to be anywhere close to meeting Greinke demands and I think we're all glad they weren't there and didn't --- I've never been a big Greinke fan, he's not Kershaw, he's not Bumgarner, I'd rather have Robbie Ray of the D-Backs. Greinke is DL guy in waiting/ and not always waiting that long.

D-Backs will be tough in the playoffs -- watch 'em knock off the Dodgers.......... Rockies not quite done yet.........Rodney has to perform a high wire act........always did for us.

how many are here from the old ESPN board? I still remember the seemless move from the ESPN board (which was pretty active back then before the trolls became too much and there were some other issues). But Chuck started AW up and folks here never looked back. A million posts later and AW standing tall. Congrats to Chuck and all who do the nitty gritty day to day stuff to keep the site going and thanks to all the posters here for making it worth sticking around all this time.

Terry Collins did manage at Houston and Pittsburgh before the Halos -- kind of forgot about that. But he was a Dodger organization lifer at one point - check his minor league managerial record and there's a string of Dodger affiliates there over a ten year plus period. Am sure he spent a number of years at Albuquerque -- I don't remember Bobby Winkles being that terrible -- I mean his record and teams were terrible (he only managed the Halos for about two seasons?) but he was sort of a real baseball guy -- wasn't the fairly long time baseball head coach at Arizona State before taking the Halos job? I think he also managed the White Sox at one point.

sounds like deja vu...... I liked Collins when the Halos hired him.........he was pretty much a Los Angeles Dodgers organization lifer when the Angels hired him away way back when. Geez did that whole situation turn around (for the worse) quickly. Mo Vaughn slipped on the dugout steps -- I think GAME ONE of the season and Terry Collins slipped on his attitude. Both were pretty much done from that point on...........perhaps one of the worst periods/ seasons (in terms of team chemistry) in Halos' franchise history rivaling the Chico Ruiz pulling a gun in the locker room on Alex Johnson incident..........

Of course, as others here have suggested, Upton could also be negotiating with the Angels as well and could get his extension right here in Anaheim........hard to say.

Upton is almost sure to opt out -- not sure where he winds up but he had a great season and his stats look good. Some team will either top his current contract or extent it out an extra year or two. Not sure if he wants to wind up on the West Coast but he would fit in pretty well in the SF Giants line up. Hunter Pence is done there and the Giants need some offensive fire power from the OF......

well, we've had a catcher for 20 years -- how about a MIF or a MIF who used to be a Catcher? I'm thinking of Chase Utley or Craig Biggio. either one would be good for the Halos in my book.........

I think Mike S. manages the Halos next year and then gets another year in 2020 before he calls it quits (retires -- does not get fired) and either moves upstairs in some made up title for the Halos -- Special Baseball Operations Assistant to the Owner - or Arte sells the club by that point and Mike Scioscia joins another organization in some capacity.
