not sure if I can play -- (no big loss) - just had some out patient back surgery last week -- may be able to DH once. I will be there for Fan Fest weekend but won't have ready transportation -- how far is the ballpark from the Big A ? If I cannot make the softball game, count me in for a charitable donation for the cause.

Gotta feel for Doc Rivers -- just a great coach, one of the best in the NBA - handled this whole ridiculous situation well -- QUESTION? Why is Doc Rivers and a player like Chris Paul over with the Clippers? This could solve the Lakers trouble real quick. Of course, Commissioner Stern didn't help when he nixed that Chris Paul deal to the Lakers -- I trace the Lakers' problems to the day that deal got vetoed by the league and then Paul gets signed by a very ungrateful Clippers organization. Good guy Doc Rivers shouldn't have to be dealing with this nonsense.

just when you thought that perhaps Donald Sterling couldn't be more embarrassing........ did anyone notice another one of those full page ads (LA TIMES) honoring Sterling for his contributions to UCLA med center today and naming one of the buildings/ facilities after him? this guy is just beyond stupid........geez.

schedule does not get easier...........I saw the Indians in Spring Training -- am very impressed with their roster and, of course, Francona is a good manager. I like their team -- going to be a tough series at home for us.........hope we can take two out of three tough home stand -- 3 with a very good Cleveland team, 3 with our division rivals Texas in a home series we really have to win in order (IMO) to be considered real contenders -- I mean if we can't beat a major division rival AT HOME , then we're not in it for the long haul.......and then finish it off with three with the NY Yankees..........who just beat us two out of three -- in a series where we could have easily won 2 out of three........ we need to take 2 of 3 from Cleveland to start this off......if that happens we wind up one game under .500 for April........an improvement over past years.

Richards a real bright spot for the Halos so far this season....... his development and progression as a front line rotation guy continues.

amazing, the guy has some of the greatest 'start of career' stats of almost any player in the history of MLB and folks are talking about an 'off year' don't think so. Trout is pretty amazing. If he doesn't get hurt, he'll put up some huge numbers and in today's MLB -- numbers that probably won't be matched by his contemporaries.......

apparently not today or this weekend.......rats!

Richards seems to be progressing and improving as a starter this year........good to see. Skaggs had some good starts late last year for Arizona so he can do the job - but he's not been an MLB starter for a full season yet.

We got what we got -- Santiago wasn't that great as a starter for the White Sox last year. He's really a long relief/ middle inning pen guy who can also give a team some spot starts. He is not a rotation guy. We are making do and with the Halos offense this year, it might even work. But don't expect quality starts out of Santiago........

well, YES -- the East Coast press and all that..........oh well. I find it hard to dis-like Jeter. A-Fraud? well, that's a whole different deal. As for press over load -- wait until tomorrow when Tanaka pitches -- lot of foreign press in every time he takes the mound.

hey folks - the reality is a .500 April is a WIN for us. Had we played .500 ball the past two Aprils -- we would have made the playoffs.......

what needs to be fixed? the umps seemed to have gotten the 'transfer rule' mostly right until they 'changed it' this year. if it ain't broke............ the call on the Hamilton 'catch/transfer' vs. Seattle was ridiculous only to followed by a worse example in an MLB game that someone posted a link to here. oh well.

I've posted this before -- I think a closer by committee dependent upon specific match ups and how well the pitcher is throwing that day/ game is a better approach to closing. I know it drives the fantasy league baseball folks nuts, but who cares about that? We're trying to win ballgames here. Frieri can be very effective is some closing role but not day in and day out. Use Smith to pitch two innings to close out a game, use some other arms for one inning...... heck, I'd put a fifth starter (five inning guy) in a slot where he might be called upon to pitch an inning in middle relief between starts......... gotta mix things up -- keep 'em guessing.........LaRussa did this for St. Louis........it worked and still does. why does this Formula baseball have to persist? This guy for that role, that situation every game, game in, game out.
