  1. long way to go in both games but liking it so far. as far as Shoe being back for the playoffs -- yeah, that's great but he's still having that MRI tomorrow........or whenever -- not comfortable until the results are in. may be best to shut him down until ST -- hard to say until the results are in. Rasmus should go five tonight but let's see who takes the mound in the fifth. I'm switching back and forth between Halos game and Cards-Brewers game -- 2-2 in the 10th at St. Louis.
  2. Kazmir being Halos Kazmir all September -- gotta be lovin' this.. guy just hit a dinger off him.......
  3. who's starting game three of the playoffs for us? Joe Blanton? He's certainly rested.
  4. ok guys -- Garrett Richards, Tyler Skaggs, Matt Shoemaker.........how much more of this can we take?
  5. Reds fan?? no, MLB fan -- YES. not too many of these at Wrigley ---Milt Pappas -- maybe or was that with Baltimore? Speaking of the O's they just won the AL East, at home, too.
  6. 94 pitches in less than 4 innings --- GEEZ......it is mid-September -- in April/ May that guy is probably out of the game after 25 pitches.
  7. Cubs 6, Reds 0 at Wrigley -- bottom of the 7th. Cubs Arrieta looking like Nolan Ryan tonight. two innings for him to go, at Wrigley.
  8. Chicago Cubs 6, Cincy Reds 0 -- bottom 7th at Wrigley. Arrieta looking more like Nolan Ryan than Cy Young right now. 2 innings to go.
  9. yeah, am sure Martinez wrote this --- love the Kershaw for Delino DeShields' kid post LOL!! One of the worst trades ever. not quite Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio but pretty close.
  10. want to see that throw and touch of the base again........neighborhood play, sure -- but the throw seemed to pull him off the bag........
  11. base hit........two run single for Campana..............and Campana can run........
  12. if we go deep into the playoffs then we're going to have one or two Rasmus for three and then the pen games........
  13. make that Marcel Lachemann, Rene is his brother and Rene actually played for the A's at one point........might have been the KC A's.
  14. last I checked, Gene Mauch and Rene Lachemann weren't managing the Halos this year.........
  15. at this point A's have to hope the Halos sweep the M's....... no one is catching the Halos for the AL West.
  16. this Kuechel guy has pitched very well against the Halos this year. for some reason, he's one of those pitchers that just seem to have the Halos number. I am pretty sure he has at least one complete game win against us this year and it was probably a shut out. he's beaten us and/or had quality starts against us several times this year.
  17. Kenny -- not so bad if you have Terrace level seats or are on the third base line (preferably with Terrace level seats). otherwise, you're right -- down the right field line in the box seats (where they usually have 'available' seats -- wonder why -- it's just a killer -- can't put on enough sun screen and then in the mid to late afternoon you're kind of looking directly at the sun). lots of other things for folks to do today -- NFL has pretty much taken over -- people these days plan their Sundays around BBQs w/ NFL games.........(not me -- I pretty much gave up watching NFL football quite some time ago -- but everyone else, it seems, just lives for it each week -- amazing how the NFL has dominated the sports market and the sports advertising dollar).
  18. expect Tuesday and Wednesday night's games to be sell outs and if they don't clinch Wednesday, Thursday's game will be sold out........ if they clinch vs. Seattle, expect a lot of empty seats for the weekend series vs. Texas............ then Oakland comes in and we get to play spoiler the last week of the season with both Oakland and Seattle.
  19. empty ballpark -- Sunday afternoon games don't seem to draw well........ when trying to re-sell tickets, the broker guys won't even talk to you when you bring in Sunday afternoon tickets. so mid-September game, Halos playing well, but game vs. HOUSTON, isn't the clincher -- beautiful weather day -- NFL football on ----- I mean, folks have other things to do.........
  20. geez, Halos hitters acting like they have early dinner reservations....... early pitch swinging..........one/ two pitch outs....... c'mon guys.......
  21. Calhoun made some nice plays out there - he actually was responsible for the one guy not scoring on that double with two outs. unfortunately Bedrosian isn't fooling any one and is sort of lucky to get out of the inning with only two runs scored against him. I thought Calhoun may have had the guy on a double play on that first catch -- good effort on his part -- but the re-play showed the guy got back to first in time -- the runner seemed to dog it a bit to me........ Hopefully, Sosh does not have Bedrosian come back out for the next inning. Halos need to score about two runs this inning and start chipping away -- this game is winnable.
  22. yeah, put up that alert -- that should guarantee it ends next inning....... I don't think this guy pitches a perfecto, no hitter or even a shut out against us today -- well, I hope that comment doesn't doom us. I see up getting off the floor in this game and making it a game with our pen shutting them down to make it a winnable game for us.
