  1. These are two separate scenarios as framed. I stand by my comments in the earlier thread. These are two separate arguments.
  2. I don't see the USC game being winnable for us given our inability to defend the pass and USC's likely ability to suppress our offense. Argh. All I know is that we currently have the same record as Stanfurd and it's November. I'll take it.
  3. Outside of your one line, snarky snipe, do you have any actual insight on the issue? Do you have a compelling reason behind your statement other than "me no likey all govermintz?" It's not like the concept of net neutrality requires some massive new tax or for a huge federal department to be created to enforce it. Everything is already in place. Why is the alternative preferable in your opinion given the nature of the Internet and its integral place in what are basic activities of 21st century life?
  4. I would take the Dubble Bubble Halloween Bowl with glee. The odds will be heavily in USC and Furd's favor for the next two games.
  5. What can you do? Oh well. All I know is that I like this Cal TEAM more than any since 2006, hell maybe even more than the 2004 and 2006 ones. They never say die. I love what I see from them. We've gone from being out of every game by the start of the second quarter to being in every game until nearly the final whistle. I forgot what it was like to be nervous watching Cal play football. I love it.
  6. The last time Cal beat USC, the price of that loss for USC was a BCS title.
  7. Hell yeah! I can't get over how improved this team is. Daniel Lasco was beastly tonight. Go Bears!
  8. Wow. Wow. Wow. We just got absolutely jobbed on a pass that was called incomplete. Both foot and body were CLEARLY down in bounds and they didn't even bother to review the call. I've never seen a more obviously blown call this season.
  9. I dunno that even Scioscia would have taken him out at that point. Bumggarner is the reason that the Giants won that series. He should receive all of the WS rings when they pass them out. His performance was good beyond comprehension. Bravo to him. I doubt we'll ever see such dominance from a pitcher in the series again.
  10. Not really, IMO. They represent an outrageous viewpoint that will never be accepted. Your time is better used worrying about more legitimate issues. There are always going to be some absolute nutters out there. You know where I went to school. You know the kind of people that can be encountered in a liberal community. I didn't come in contact with anybody that wouldn't consider the ending of a human life post birth anything short of murder. This is silly.
  11. 1 to 2 is indicative of a growing number. I find this very difficult to believe. This is sensationalism at its best.
  12. Yep. The Oregon game was encouraging to me on the third down point, in that we actually made Oregon punt a few times. What drives me mad is how vulnerable the team is on third and long. There were some crap calls and more importantly some special teams gaffes that made that Oregon game less competitive than it could have been.
  13. It does seem like we're making good progress on both fronts, honestly. It's unbelievable how poor the state of the program had become by the time Tedford was fired. If I recall correctly, I'm hoping that you were right in your initial assessment of the Dykes hire. Last year was such a disaster, but I think it was reflective of what a complete regime change may bring in a fully dysfunctional system (business, football program, etc).

  15. 4 star on defense just signed on. We need more. We need lots and lots of defense. Sell that playing time. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Russell-Ude-149458
