By all means, I'm not calling him a bottom of the rotation starter. He's a 2 maybe 3 at his lowest. Something similar to Jordan Zimmerman. Just not someone I want anchoring the top of our rotation.

That was Scotty. He said it so much last season that it just felt like a bunch of people were saying it.

I don't have much confidence in Richards either. Before his 2014 season he gave no indication of being anywhere close to that good. What we're seeing right now from him is probably what we're going to expect down the line. Not that Ace type dominant Richards.

David Price. Get David ****ing Price! Sadly, we're screwed with Weaver and CJ clogging up 2 spots in the rotation for one more year unless we pull a miracle and trade CJ. I'd really like to trade Santiago either for a prospect or a bat. He has been terrible since just before the ASB. His numbers before that screamed regression too. Go into 2016 with a rotation of Price, Heaney, Richards, Weaver, CJ/Skaggs. (Shoe, Newcomb after) I think we'll most likely get a Zimmerman or Shark type guy. They have Angels written all over them. Not ace caliber but come up 2/3 type and more affordable. The bullpen for the most part is fine. Maybe add one more piece for 6th/7th. Definitely think we need to explore options for 2B and LF. I'd be okay with Murphy in LF full time but if we can get something better like Cespedes then why not?

So he's more of a Cogliano than anything. Awesome! You can expect speed from Etem. His 1 move - tip off the board and around the defender. That's it. However, with the NYR style I can see him being a bit more useful than he was with our power and size. I think a change of scenery will do him good.

Theodore is going to make Vatanen look like Sbisa when he gets a few years under his belt in the show.

I've been working on understanding the advanced stats in hockey over the offseason. I'll have to go back and look but from what I remember Rakell was terrible in any situation other than the 4th and some 3rd line time. He definitely stepped it up this past season and earned his spot on the team. Here's hoping he continues to progress but at this time I don't want him anywhere near the 2nd line (and possibly the 3rd) depending on lines and how the depth chart ends up shaping out.

For the most part sarcasm. Dude has had maybe 2 shifts on the 2nd line in his career. Don't think you can throw the guy into the 1st line fire just yet and expect him to succeed.

Also, defenseman tend to last a bit longer out there. Giordano will be a dominant 1st line/2nd line Dman till his contract is up. Kesler might not still have that 2C talent by the time his deal is up. If we win a Cup or 2 who gives a **** though!

Kesler has had a stretch of injuries throughout his career. That's the main reason they're talking bad about the deal. Its understandable.

Did he also turn down a QB football scholarship to Florida? This has been a great surprise. If he can develop into an everyday starting C that would be phenomenal!

No way in hell Rakell is a 1st line center right now. Not even on Edmonton or Buffalo.

If Green manages to get at least 100 PAs consistently for the remainder of the season and still stinks it up then I'll hop off the kool-aid. This is make or break.
