  1. I despised the Wells trade because first I looked at his stats and thought "what's the big deal about this bum?" Then second, because I found out how much money we were going to be flushing down the terlit and thought there's no way this is going to end well. Losing Napoli was just the icing on the cake.
  2. I'd give it a shot just to try something new, I rarely eat them, but I am big big Doritos fan LOL. To echo one of the comments under that article that made me laugh: "When does the Cool Ranch flavor come out?"
  3. Pujols for sure. I even bought an Pujols Authentic Jersey. Then that first month of no homers made me think "oh my, we've made a huge mistake..." Good thing that jersey didn't fit and I sent it back...
  4. As much as it might feel like he planned this all along, I really don't think he did. It was a culmination of issues the past couple years, so it's hard for me to blame the guy. He wants to win. He gave the Angels 6 of *probably* his best years to prove to him we were serious contenders, and we didn't do that. The only people to blame is the Angels inept Organization, and I'm not going to get mad at Ohtani for that.
  5. I would have taken him as soon as los doyers released him as I figured all that BS was going to come out unsubstantiated. Guy busts his ass and would be a legitimate asset to our rotation.
  6. I had no idea the ability to speak English was one of the qualifications required for superstardom. So I guess this disqualifies a majority of football and basketball players who seem to have a tenuous grasp of the language as well.
  7. Have you been to the San Francisco/Oakland area over the past 3-4 years? It absolutely has to have factored in to his decision, it would factor in to mine. Although Downtown LA is not much better...at least you can drive to Orange County and live in a relatively nice area around the beach cities.
  8. I wonder if they have a business license and/or pay taxes?
  9. Works on contingency? No, money down!
  10. Almost 8 years later and California still hasn't made any progress on this undoubtedly complicated and controversial issue? I, for one, am shocked.
  11. Seems to me after waiting 6 years for the Angels to pull their heads out of their asses, he actually wants to make the playoffs ASAP as possible, and as we all know, the chances of the Angels doing that anytime soon is quite slim. He will have a couple more good years, although I really think his pitching is up in the air, however the best may honestly be behind him.
  12. Oh that's right, it was the season before in '22 where he was decent through June, then took a dump the last 3 months of the season. These last few Angel seasons have become somewhat of a shit-stained blur.
  13. That is legit 5 guys prices, and the burger does not come with fry and drink, they butt rape you for those too. Think $5 for fries, $3 for fountain soda? Don't. It's not worth it. Buyers remorse almost immediately. Whataburger is just a way different type of burger than In N Out, but for the price they are hands down the best chain burger (besides In N Out) in the Valley IMO. Plus they have onion rings and Whataburger branded spicey ketchup. Everything I've tried on their menu is delicious and made fresh.
  14. Max Stassi was clueless at the plate and behind the dish this past season, so good riddance. Don't know what happened to Fletches bat but he fell off quick...I don't doubt a team like the Braves can get that swing cleaned up and he can be semi-succesful in the batters box...Fletch was an awesome infielder though, really a lot of fun to watch...too bad he didn't work out for us, I wish him the best.
  15. I think "hoping for health" should be immediately thrown out, because as we've seen this past decade, it just can't be relied on in this organization. Last year we were somewhere around the top in MLB of paying for players who weren't actually playing due to injuries.
  16. Yeah this place fuckin' rocks. I can't stand MLB TV and I don't Twitt on the Tweeter so I'm pretty much insulated from all that stupid bullshit. All I need to know about the Angels/Baseball is on this site, and not only that, it's entertaining as hell. If it wasn't for this site I definitely wouldn't be the fan I am today, so I am thankful for it as well, especially through these trying times.
  17. I was referring to his seasons with us, his performance as compared to how they will be the next 10 with they doyers. They're not going to be as valuable as they were with us the past 6 years.
  18. Has anyone else noticed the ridiculous amount of spelling/grammatical/typographical errors committed throughout this thread? Especially in the first few pages. Were people just posting as quickly as possible? Made it difficult to understand what some of you guys were saying at times. I only bring it up because usually the posting around here is usually pretty clean, so it really kind of stood out to me. Anyway...if the doyers could defer that much of his contract, why didn't the Angels? I would also like to echo a point I heard earlier which I thought was pretty good...we are perhaps already past Ohtani's best days, and were ANY of his seasons the past 6 years worth $70 million? I don't think so. So it's not far fetched to think there's no way they're going to be worth that in the future either. However, this definitely appears to be much more of a financial/marketing decision based off value, than based off anything Ohtani will actually do on the field, so...hard to blame the doyers.
