Why should CJ do long relief? How will that be any different than him giving up 5 runs in less than 2 innings when he starts? I'm sure CJ is just as frustrated as we are, and has been working to get his stuff back, but the problem is his fastball has no movement and his offspeed stuff is either down the pipe or way off. I don't think he will leave the rotation if he blows it tommorow. But if he starts giving up runs in the first couple innings I would assume as was last outing, Skip has him on a short leash.

Yeah Freese made the right call, he just made a bad throw and Iannetta compounded the mistake by not watching the ball go into his glove before he made the tag. The runner coming home didn't even touch the plate the first time around, if Iannetta would have just caught the ball, he would have been out no matter what. Still doesn't mean we'd be out of the inning though.

Not only is Grilli a VAST improvement over Frieri, I am so happy I never have to hear his name coming from the bullpen with less than a 2 run lead.

IMO both screwed up on that play. But Freese had to barehand it. Coulda been a better throw. Don't know how Iannetta missed it.
