  1. ^You haven't been reading this board very long have you? Everyone, welcome the new Steve Bartman.
  2. It's still a bullshit award. I think Spiezio got robbed of one when he was with us too, he had a .997 or .999 fielding percentage and I couldn't believe it. Or it might have been the Erstad year ya'll are talking about. Either way I know one of our 1st basemen got robbed back in the early 2000's when he was having a great year at 1st.
  3. Anybody else find this World Series somewhat boring? I don't know if it's just that the NLCS was so much fun to watch, or that to me I don't care who wins, but I just haven't been as locked into this one as much as I have been before. It doesn't feel MUST SEE. And then even the scores have been kinda boring too, and it feels like the managers have been over-managing. I mean as soon as a starter gets a base-runner in the 4th, he's pulled out of the game? Wha? I dunno, maybe it's just me. This series doesn't have me on the edge of my seat.
  4. How do guys play with those bell bottom pants that hang way under their cleats? That would drive me nuts. I always liked my socks pulled up to under my kneecaps. Also, as a former catcher, I like how Contreras exaggerates getting low to the ground.
  5. You wouldn't know, it's something used by people who work on Sundays.
  6. Yeah exactly, he's even called some pitches before they were thrown, which I found pretty impressive. And he doesn't go overboard with the commentary or over-analyzing. And Rizzo might hit like a lefty Trout, and look a bit like Trout, but he sure don't run like Trout lol.
  7. I rarely say this about Fox commentators, but I have actually enjoyed the input John Smoltz has provided throughout the games. Buck is still unbearable.
  8. I will say one thing that's to your advantage about being an old fart, nobody wants to...oh wait, that's not an advantage. Nevermind.
  9. Oh I know Stradling because some of your posts around here are just so current with today's lingo thanks for the language critique though really not a waste of a post at all great job.
  10. Everyone make sure Lou's aware of this tidbit of information he might want to mention it in the World Series thread.
  11. I'm on my phone I'm not going sifting through 50+ pages of the postseason thread right now are you out of your fuc*ing mind? I'm glad you got your butt buddy m0nkey to back you up though, holy smokes what would this board do without him, didn't know you needed him for re-enforcements I thought you were a big boy nice to know though.
  12. Lol "dum dee dum, I'll just walk and make sure to flip my bat after hitting the ball with warning track power down 6-0 in the 9th...doo dee dum..."
  13. I was gonna say down 3 runs the Cubs can maybe tie it. Down 6 I don't think so. Indians pitching is simply dominating. I mean I've only seen a couple innings but holey crap it seems like they are remarkably strong.
  14. Great pitching change Joe. That pitch was right down the pipe. Cubbies bats, once again, are going to need to wake up.
  15. How much crapping the bed do you have to do as an umpire to NOT be able to call a World Series game if after all his sucking they still let stupid fat dogshit faced Joe West call a game?
  16. ^I think a lot of it has to do with the Pennant games I saw. I didn't get a chance to watch any of the AL series, and barely followed Cleveland throughout the season. Is that stupid fat dogshit faced Joe West behind the plate? Who in the actual crap would let that fool anywhere near a World Series?
  17. I for one am baffled as to where this Indians team came from --- seemingly from out of nowhere. Up 3-0 in the 8th, and the Cubbies cant win if their bats don't score runs. Miller's slider is NASTY! Also I don't know how I feel about bringing a guy in who ain't seen live pitching in 6 months. For some reason you love mentioning this. It's atleast your second time. And oh look at that now there's a thread for it.
  18. Tickets for Game 1 on Stubhub right now for $880. A bit more reasonable than $2000+. For that price I'd consider going.
  19. Same here, except for me it was solely Piazza. I was still pretty young back then, didn't know the whole logistics to the "trade" game, so didn't really have any reason to be a Doyer fan except he was on their team. And once I saw that we got Charles Johnson as a catcher instead, it just didn't make sense. Broke my heart and I swore to never be a fan of the team again. Mom always took me to Angel Stadium anyway, which was 10 minutes away instead of an hour away, so that day I became a Halo fan. And once I got to see guys like Erstad and Anderson play, well, that was it for me. Been a Halo fan ever since.
  20. I'm not sure what it would take for me but I know my pops went to a game late this season with my mom and they were both not happy. I won't go deep into specifics to bitch and moan, but basically he wasn't happy with the parking situation and said the stadium felt "run down and dirty," he couldn't believe how much it cost for a soda, and he also thought the Angels played like crap and he said if it weren't for Trout he probably would have left early. Straight up he said "he's done" with going to Angels games. Unless something drastically changes, I tend to believe him. He's worked hard to earn his money and he'd rather spend it somewhere else. This coming from a guy who loves baseball and had Season Tickets for something like 5+ seasons. I haven't been to an Angel game since August 2014. Can't say I miss it, but hey, we have Trout and it's my home team. If they moved away there is no way in hell I would become a Doyer fan.
  21. lol wut I'm not going to lie Napoli should have played more with us and I was sad to see him go but now A-Rod's just getting ridiculous. btw what's up with him constantly throwing the Angels under the bus with former Halo players? Is he bringing up any other former players teams that should have kept them?
  22. You're so full of sh*t. You never had any in the first place.
  23. Found the "Cubbies for life" fan. Never fails, it happens every year. The World Series rolls around and a fan of one the teams comes on here to act like a big tough buffoon. I don't think anybody on this board has done anything but show a tremendous amount of respect for Joe Maddon, so I'm kinda puzzled, why so angry?
  24. Soooooo dope Chuckster! Rock those balls!
