  1. I would eat all but Australia. Would be nice to add more countries though.
  2. Is that the attendance prediction for the first homegame after we get swept?
  3. http://articles.latimes.com/2013/apr/06/sports/la-sp-0407-angels-notes-20130407
  4. Geeze, even throwing the ball, it's painful to watch Pujols. He's turning into Ron Cey Running, and Steve Garvey throwing.
  5. The one's I know that are available but not approved.
  6. haven't seen it. But all I can think is it's silly that MLB is stalling on headgear for pitchers.
  7. You have to look at salary when looking to trade players. As we stand right now, our estimated 2014 salary is already at $140 million. Yes, $140 million without making one move. This team needs to get cheaper, but also better. And with 2 boatanchor contracts in Pujols and Hamilton, along with the remaining of Wells. I just don't see it possible. So you have to keep your young talent. This includes Trout, Trumbo, and even Bourjos and Conger. And as we saw by our injury replacements, what we have at 3rd and SS is much better defensively than what it can be replaced with. Cowart could change the 3rd landscape, but he's still 1-2 years away. And even then Cowart is no guarantee, if he was, he'd be on the team already. That leaves one position. 2B. While Kendrick is getting a batting resurgence, it has still only resulted in a .754 OPS. And his defense is above average, but not a big enough gap from what it can be replaced with. With $19 million after this year still owed, his salary is also very favorable to a trade partner. So he would be one choice. Pitching wise. Blanton is possible, but unless he really heats up, probably won't be in demand at the trade deadline. No one will touch CJ, and Weaver is our best by far with a very team friendly contract. Vargas though is a FA after this year. He could be a nice pickup for a contender if he continues to pitch well. WHIP isn't there, but his ERA is at 3.72. Hanson has 2 years of club control left. He could be dealt, but for the Angels, his $ is probably worth keeping him. Relievers. Really Frieri is the best $ for value right now, so he will definitely stay. Burnett has a year at $4 left, so not out of the possibility of trading or keeping him. Jerome has $3 left, I think he still has value as a spot starter/long reliever so I can't see him being traded. Jepsen has 2 years left of club control, so doubt he gets dealt. The big one may be Madson. Once/IF he returns, and if he regains form, he could be a very valuable piece for a contending team. So my bet is Kendrick, Vargas, and Madson are the guys to be dealt at the trade deadline if the Angels are out of contention.
  8. This wouldn't surprise me. And I'm sure they will be looking at previous residencies for all three of them, and looking for missing persons in that area also.
  9. Watched the video again. Typical Chinese driver. Makes a 3 lane change, and cuts off another driver and blames the bear.
  10. Nice read. Real interesting angle, and a great way to explain "advanced" stats. Now about them relievers.....
  11. Buy 3D glasses to use in the theater? After watching Iron Man in 3D, I decided to go this route. Just tired of having to clean the glasses that some of the time are scratched. From what I'm reading, there are two kinds of 3D glasses for the most part out there. RealD and Xpand. Xpand is used by Arclight, which I go to frequently. But most including the Arclight in Sherman Oaks use the RealD. Oakley makes a RealD glass which online you can find for about $70. It's not made out of that flimsy plastic film. And Xpand has a much lighter 1.04 version which is about $50 online. You can buy the clunky one's that they use in the theaters for about $20 online. And the reason it's lighter is it's made for personal use, not commercial herd use. So am I wrong in thinking this way?
  12. It's all going to end up as one big block, so I'd get all the 2100 and 5400 ones and fill them up.
  13. At the size of your town, you should still have 2400 plots and the 5400? plots left. At least I think you should.
  14. http://www.fishstripes.com/2013/4/23/4255952/miami-marlins-miguel-cabrera-2007-trade-detroit-tigers-los-angeles-angels-howie-kendrick Santana or Saunders (Don't think they would have given them Adenhart, but looking back at it, wish they did so he wouldn't have been in So Cal that day), Wood, Willits, Mathis. Probably the hangup was the Angels didn't want to let go of Kendrick or Morales. Back in 2007, both had stupid potential. Especially Kendrick.
  15. Other than that though, the article is pretty accurate. One thing I'm surprised he didn't bring up was the blinding advertisements. And maybe that's why the stadium seems dark, since those advertisements seem to light everything up when they are showing, thus making when they aren't showing during at bats seem like it's much darker than it is.
  16. That's what I was thinking too Katie. Should only take 1 hour from LA with traffic, 30 minutes with no traffic. I know because that's how long it takes me.
  17. The more I think of it, the more Dipoto was really behind the 8 ball, with little room to get out. 2 assumptions here. Moreno does not want to go over the luxury tax. Moreno pushed/forced for Pujols and Hamilton. And I think there are articles that hints at both. If that is the case, the luxury tax is $178 million for 2013. Hamilton counts for $25 million and Pujols counts for $24 million. So that's $49 million, or $129 million that Dipoto has to work with. Looks good right? Then you have the $18 million against the tax of Wells. Luckily the Yanks will cover a bit of it. So now Dipoto is down to about $115 million. Weaver $17 million, Wilson $18 million, Kendrick $8 million, Aybar $9 million, Iannetta $5 million, Downs $5, Callaspo $4 takes up $66 million more. So that's $49 million, with some other lower paid players to drop it to about $40 million left. This offseason, we needed 3 starters, and 3 relievers. While $45 million sounds like a lot. If we excercised Haren and Santana, that would have been $13 and $15 million against the cap. Leaving $12 million left for 1 starter and 3 relievers. So instead we went Vargas $8, Blanton $7.5, Hanson $4, Burnett $4, Madson $3.5. For a total of $27 million. That should leave us around $13 millionish for the trade deadline, although we will be sellers instead of buyers if this crap continues.
