  2. It's lame because of the attempted Jeter day stunt last year. If that never happened, then maybe you can give them a pass. But I really don't like honoring players that never put our uniform on.
  3. That's just Bourjos arriving on his thundercloud.
  4. Sober man arrested for DUI, claims it was case of ‘Driving While Black’
  5. I have no problems with it. And I don't think Trout does either. Him, Trumbo, and Bourjos seem to be like the three Amigos. Heck last season, Trout and Bourjos were joking that they were going to let nothing drop in the outfield at the beginning of the season. I think reporters are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
  6. Or Shuck out of LF. He scared me whenever a ball went in his direction.
  7. Chuck posting the lineup in a gameday thread. It's a sign that we will win.
  8. Video surveilance? Talking to a lawyer about $15 in food? Yeah, worst person of the week. Her Facebook must be getting lit up.
  9. Trailers look funny. So if it's on the tube, I'd watch it. Not sure I'd pay for it though.
  10. Have tickets for Saturday. Although it does look like there are a lot of goods seats still available. Which wasn't the case for Iron Man or Star Trek a week out.
  11. It's a good move. When Z was at Churchill, it rained the day before, and the day of. Dried out by race time, but Breeders Cup is not only about the main event. While it may rain in So Cal, it's almost guaranteed back east in early November. And with the amount of money people are paying, $4-6k for box seats, $250 for a grandstand seat, you want a spectacle. When I went to volunteer orientation the week before the Breeders Cup last year. The head guy at the Breeders Cup said, people have asked why the Breeders Cup loves to go to Santa Anita. Then he waved his hands to the mountains as the backdrop and said, this is the reason why.
  12. To me, this article seems like it stopped abruptly before coming to a conclusion. What happened to Whitey and Fountaine? I actually clicked on the link thinking there was more to the article.
  13. If you are going to look in the booth. How about Gubi? He seems to analyze the pitchers quite often. Even picking out what the pitchers are doing, and why he's missing the plate by a mile.
  14. I for one think Scioscia should stay a bit longer. But you need a bench coach that will talk with Scioscia when one of those headscratchers come up. Would Joe Torre be interested in the bench coach job? The Ryne Sandberg is an interesting one. Salmon might also be a possibilty to learn under Scioscia. Although I really liked him in the booth. Maybe Milt Thompson of the Astros for hitting coach? I think he's coaching in the minors right now? Pitching coaches, all the good one's are employed. So hoping Bud gets canned?
  15. Depends on how much involvement Arte had for Pujols and Hamilton. Blanton was a bad signing. But Vargas and Hanson (still to be seen, but before his issues he was an under 4 era) have been good pickups. Santana was a mistake, but many of us would have done the same thing. And Haren seems to have been a good decision. Madsen, he is what he is. I thought he was picked up more for future trades than as a reliable reliever/closer. And even if you include Pujols and Hamilton. They are so underperforming, that I can't blame the GM entirely. Heck, if both had even a .750 OPS, the team would look a lot different. And that's not asking much considering how they were performing before in their careers.
  16. You won't like this answer. But go here http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/topic/1169-estimated-opening-day-salaries/ and click on the google docs link. It's not pretty what our salaries look like for the next few years.
  17. Move: Signing Pujols. Didn't like it. Thought it was way too many years. But thought we would at least get 3 years minimum of his St Louis production. Move: Signing Wilson Didn't like it. His WHIP was all smoke and mirrors his final year in Texas. But the contract wasn't horrible, and it kept him off Texas. Move: Trading for Greinke Liked it. It was a big splash trade. While a bat might have been a better acquisition at the time, a dominating starting rotation was also nice. Plus at the time, on paper, it didn't look like we gave up much. Move: Trading Santana Liked it. Saved us money, and Santana seemed to be hit or miss. Looking back on it, it doesn't surprise me that the trade lit a fire under his ass, especially in a contract season. Move: Signing Blanton Hated it. He is actually doing much worse than the most haterade predictions, almost making it into a polyana prediction. Move: Dumping Haren Didn't like it. Thought he would bounce back, and for one year was worth the chance. Move: Trading for Hanson Liked it. We gave up a reliever that we really couldn't wait for any longer, for a club controlled starter. He's been a little disappointing, but his mental state is probably still a bit off. So hopefully he will finish the season off strong. Could still be a good trade for us. Move: Trading for Vargas Liked it. He broke his leg and was out for over a year. We have someone playing first, and someone under control as a DH. He had a limited trade possiblity because he was pretty much a DH. So we got a starting pitcher out of it. I didn't think he would pitch this well though. Move: Signing Hamilton Didn't like it. But only because of the amount and length. I was hoping to offer him 4/$100, and make Texas go to 5. Thought we jumped the gun just a bit and were a bit too aggressive in the signing. Sometimes it's good to stir the pot. And I thought it would turn into a bidding war, where we would make Texas overpay. Instead, we got played by them. But I thought he would have some production, so was way off on even the 4/$100.
  18. With how severe his injury was, it was kind of amazing that he was able to come back so quickly, let alone at all. This kind of reminds me of the Giants pitcher (think it was Giants) that had cancer on his throwing arm. Only to come back and it snapped on him. Great story about the comeback, but when something happens you really aren't surprised.
  19. I think you will see the support staff get reassigned first before you get Scioscia fired/reassigned. Like it or not, Scioscia's support staff is mainly minor league coaches. I don't know the answer to this, but do minor league coaches get the same respect as a major league player/coach? How much will Pujols listen to Eppard as opposed to McGwire? How much can Piccollo, a career minor leaguer (I think), relate to someone who make millions? Arte has spent millions to put the best possible team together. And when it comes to maintenance of those players, he's letting a minor league team oversee it.
  20. Same with Dish. They are supposed to black out games, but have yet to so far. I think they moved a few games to 13 due to the hockey and basketball playoffs. And the ESPN and Fox games are a few others. I'm still expecting a few to get blacked out. The big question I'm wondering is, what happens when Fox 1 launches. I'm sure they are going to bundle everything with it. Are they going to move say Nastycar and the Fox baseball games off of Fox and onto Fox 1 similar to how MNF moved to ESPN? And are they going to charge a boatload because of it? Because I can see the Fox channels being moved to a premium tier if that is the case.
  21. And watching strike 3 to end it. Appropriate.
  22. Wow, someone what won't swing at a ball out of the zone. He should get traded.
  23. And pujols hits it to deep Foul out. Didn't see that coming either.
