To put it in a basic stat calculation. Right now, the Angels are at a -23 run differential. If Pujols and Hamilton had as many RBI's as Trumbo, in which Trumbo has 44 RBI's and is on pace for 111 RBI's. Pujols would be +7, and when he plays a whole season he's around 105-120 RBI's. Hamilton would be a +24. Yes, Hamilton only has 20 RBI's, when career wise, when healthy he's a 100+ RBI guy. 31 more runs would put us at a +8. Currently, only KC (+5, 3 games under .500) and Cleveland (+2, 3 games under .500) have losing records with a + run differential. Baltimore and PIttsburgh are next lowest at +14, and they are 8 and 11 games over .500. We may not be on top. But at least we can say we are in the chase.

Yup, we need these two to perform. To put it all in perspective at how the Angels are all in right now. 2013, our payroll is at $137 million with the current group of people. In 2014, our payroll, while losing Vargas and Downs, so a starter and reliever. Our salary is already committed at $144 million. And this does not even take into account significant raises that Bourjos, Trumbo, and Frieri will be getting in their first year or arbitration. In 2015, our payroll is at $129 million with Trout hitting arb for the first year. 2016, our payroll is at $120 million. These number are if we make zero moves! All in.
