    Scioscia probably didn't want to throw off Weavers rest time between starts to 7 days, and instead spread it to two 6 days. Baseball players are creatures of repetition and habit. You throw off their schedule by too much, you could throw them off.

    I think one thing about the article was absolutely correct. Very rarely do players get better when they sign these mega deals. In most of the cases, they are already at the peak of their game. What you are paying for is the hope that they continue to produce at the same levels. In most cases, the player will see some form of decrease in production eventually. And unfortunately for us, some will see a severe decrease.
