    I would still do a Kennedy for Blanton trade. And I think of the trades in this entire thread, the one Corey suggested way on page 1 would still be intriguing. Although now Downs is out of the equation so not sure if just Kendrick would do it.

    This is the one I'll keep pushing. Phillies trade Howard, Palpelbolm, and Lee to the Yankees for Teixerra. This sheds a ton of salary by the Phillies. The Yankees get a legit closer to take over for Rivera, and they get a starting pitcher. And if Arod gets suspended/banned, the Yanks will actually be around the same salary.

    I like this move. We weren't going to get much for Downs. Now we got a club controlled reliever. Those who think we could get better probably bought Apple stock when it was $600 and are still sure it will get to $1000.

    Taking a glance at the free agent list for this offseason. Stephen Drew and Jhonny Peralta are the only SS's that I can see worth mentioning. 2b, Cano and Utley are the obvious. Infante is also a free agent. So at least there is something in FA'cy, as opposed to starting pitching.

    Kennedy for Blanton? And no not a joke. Blanton might be better in the NL. Kennedy is a 5.22/1.4, Blanton a 5.52/1.56. Both not that great. Blanton owed $7.5, with an $8 option ($1 buyout). Kennedy will be in year 2 of arb this offseason. This year he made $4.2 million. Kennedy isn't much. But it might be worth a shot that maybe a change will revitalize him. Blanton + $2 million for Kennedy?
