Took a look through the AL, and the longest anyone's ever gotten (current managers) is 5 years. even guys that have been there forever, like Gardenhire has only been getting 2 year contracts.

If Rosenthal is right, and I think he probably is. Trout 2014 ??, 2015 $12 million, 2016 $16 million, 2017 $20 million, 2018 FA. $48 million for the three arb years. They should just do a 7/$125 or a 6/$100 and hope he signs. Would put him right in the 28/29 YO area for his monster contract.

I'm thinking we might be able to sign him for 6 years this offseason, but 7 would be better. 10 would be too long, and actually might not be a good idea for Trout. Easier to sign a 10 year deal at 28 than at 32. -

Of course they are. Most posters here are willing to give Trout a 10+ year contract, and if it's on the interweb it's always right. -

What was that one movie during this period about a plane crash? I remember going to Universal Studios, and they would have a recreation of the plane sinking as a stage attraction. and people could volunteer to escape from the plane.
