  1. Why you may ask your job to drop health insurance
  2. This is the Padres. And having to pay him $8.75ish million next year might be motivation enough to trade him. The big question is what would they want. MLB players or prospects? Or MLB players with lot's of control left. In a perfect world, Nelson and Cowgill. But we don't live in a perfect world. Although Cowgill has been looking good. Except for the play on Saturday, looks like he's a good defender in the OF, with a plus arm. And while people don't like his hitting, he does have a .752 OPS with us. Again, not ideal, but if their main focus is shedding that payroll. /crosses fingers.
  3. Yikes, should have looked at his splits. Still, there is a chance he could get better. IMO, he is much better than what we have now, and when you are banking on a .577 OPS hitter in AA as your only hope, it doesn't look like that bad of an option.
  4. I'd take a flyer on him. He will have one more year of arb before he is a free agent. He made $8.5 million last year. He'll probably make the same next year. He's at a .695 OPS this season. But it's in Petco, and last season he had a .875 OPS. Thirdbasemen just aren't around enough anymore. Oh, and you WAR fans, with a .695 OPS, he still has a 2.3 WAR this season. So yeah, put a claim in. See if he falls to us.
  5. Merry Christmas. http://www.angelswin.com/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=72561&posts=1&start=1
  6. I'm going to make a TV show about this, not give you any rights, and replace you with a shark that eats Cable wire and dish's. It'll probably come knocking on your door too. Sci Fi will love it.
  7. Cases like this. It's hard to argue against a firing squad, in a bathtub, with a hair dryer, some poison darts, and just for the fun of it, some gasoline and a match. There are far too many people in the world. Need to start thining them out.
  8. You don't even have to have an understanding of advanced statistics to see the fault in this hindsight thread.
  9. I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
  10. Well, at least Aybar didn't swing at a pitch that hit him in the nuts. Progress!
  11. Hopefully the Dogs string a few losses together. They might become motivated again. Zach Lee is currently at AA, 3.19 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 3.9 K to BB ratio I would think that the Dogs just tried to give him only, but the Angels wanted a few more.
  12. A-Rod’s lawyer was totally owned on the “Today Show” this morning. Just pure awesomeness.
