  1. Ok, added onto the Competitive Balance Tax the 15 players not on the 15 man, but made their salaries $0.0815 for simplicity sake. Also, adjusted the minimum players, since I haven't updated that number this year.
  2. I think your first set is probably what's going to happen. Although I think it'll be Pujols in the 3/4 slot, with Trout moving to 4 and Trumbo at 5.
  3. Could mean that it's not to give Callhoun a permanent spot. But Shuck. He's the only one I think that can do the leadoff, outside of Trout. And I think with Trouts overall numbers, they are going to move him to 3/4 in the lineup. And with Shuck being the Angels defensive player last year, although personally I don't think he was even close, you know that Scioscia is going to go gaga over that. Plus Shuck is a Dipoto guy that was brought in.
  4. Ok, added the players cost. So the total goes up to $171.245 million. I just did a simple 5% increase from 2013 for calculation sake. So that leaves us at $17.75 million.
  5. Ugg. Yeah, forgot about that. Guess I'll put it in to make the numbers oh so much better.
  6. Health will be the biggest issue around him. But his injuries aren't as serious as Freese'. He does have a hip issue that he plays through. He is fast. One of the better defenders in CF. Let's put it this way. Trout was moved out of CF to put Peter there, not Peter moving positions so Trout can play CF. He's that much better defensively. IMO, Peter is probably one of the top defenders in CF in MLB right now. Hitting wise, he works the count real well. He is odd in that he doesn't steal bases. But he is very quick on the basepads. IMO, he is slower than Trout at home to first, but faster than him past that. If he's healthy, he will be your CF. Your prospect or anyone else there can move to another position.
  7. Would AntiTrust Exemption come into play?
  8. Alex Rodriguez: 'We crushed it'
  9. I have a feeling it means Trout CF, Hamilton RF, Shuck LF. Shuck looked like Scioscia's choice to lead off last year.
  10. Have fun leading off for your new team in the playoffs. Shuck appreciates you opening up a spot for him.
  11. Updated with the Bourjos Trade. Right now we are estimated at an opening day salary of $151.9 million. Our Competitive Balance Tax amount is estimated at $159.9 million, with the cap at $189 million. So about $29.1 million left.
  12. updated. 11/22/13 Traded Peter Bourjos and Randall Grichuk for David Freese and Fernando Salas
  13. My question now becomes. Who leads off next season? And the answer better not be Shuck.
  14. Salas isn't even one of St. Louis' top 10 prospects according to Baseball America. /sigh.
  15. We better be getting something good back.
  16. Also in another note. Bourjos was scheduled to make $1.1 million in arbitration 1 this offseason. Freese is in arbitration 2, and made $3.15 million last year. So our 'tax space' to get pitchers also shrank.
  17. Well, for all those that wanted Bourjos traded you got your wish. For a team that wants to improve pitching, giving up your best OF defender, for a very bad defending 3B isn't a good start.
  18. IMO, it just solidifies Bourjos staying on the team. He's estimated to be paid $1.1 million next season. If $7.5 million is the going price, with the team in a financial cap, you keep cost controlled players. Not trade them away and continue the death spiral. Especially players, who as people keep pointing out, have flaws and are probably at their lowest value right now.
  19. Well, I can see what happened to the other 9 beers in the 12 pack. Smoke some week, and you will wonder why the beers always float upside down.
  20. Dodgers lose Shawn Tolleson to Rangers, plus 40-man & Rule 5 Draft
  21. LOL. Reactions To The Jason Vargas Signing
  22. Rated NC-17 for Violence, just as a warning. But a pretty cool music video. well, maybe not the music part.
