  1. Kmo, Santana, Cruz. No one seems to be talking much about signing any of them. Some team might get a Lohse type deal out of them.
  2. Hart is at $5 million with incentives to boost it to $13 million. Morrison is at arbitration 1, with MLBtraderumors estimated him to get $1.7 million. Don't think M's are out of the Choo race yet.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if all 30 teams put in a posting fee.
  4. David Price Wouldn't Sign Extension With Mariners although I don't know if that's good or bad for us. They may be in the FA market for a starter now.
  5. The problem is, Tanaka could go en route of the Matsuzaka effect. For the amount of money, especially CBT money, I don't know if the Angels can take that risk. And if they are willing to take that risk, then I question why we've been pinching so many pennies this offseason.
  6. And holy smokes. The Mariners have money to spend. Even with Cano, they are only at around $60 million with 2 arb 1 players.

  9. Depends on the price. 4/$60 sure. But I have a feeling he's going to look for a 5+ year starting at $20 million+ per. He's only 30. He's the biggest fish in the pond. And mediocre pitchers are getting $10 million. Plus he won't cost a pick like Santana and Jimenez will. And with many teams needing good starting pitching, his 7 seasons in a row of sub 4.00 ERA pitching means he is in the drivers seat.

  11. Depends on if they are looking to extend Trout this offseason. If the answer if yes, then they might need to trade Kendrick in order to extend Trout and sign a legitimate innings eating starting pitcher.
  12. Yes and no. Trout won't get a big hike, because Trumbo was arbitration eligible. But this does free up money where you could see a long term deal made to Trout, and still stay under the cap. Of course if this happens, it's unlikely we have room under the CBT to get a #3 type pitcher.
  13. So his Hit and BB rates are lower than average players. Yet his WHIP is still above 1.30+ which is not very good. Some funny math going on here.
  14. Because he can't find the strike zone. He's a 1.30+ career WHIP pitcher. Except for a time in rookie ball over 17 starts, 8 starts in A+ ball, and 3 starts in AAA. He has also never started more than 23 games a season. He's an average pitcher.
  15. Updated the Trumbo Trade. Opening Day Salary estimated at $143.5 million CBT estimated at $164.1 million. a bit under $25 million to cap.
  16. I don't get it. Why would the Rakuten president be at the winter meetings? Tanaka will get the maximum.
  17. I think they want to take the Red Sox avenue. Teams need pitching. Lot's of teams. So if they can trade Hamels or Lee, my guess is they will want to include Howard, especially with Hamels. They just need one Doggie to say yes. And the Yanks may just be that Doggie.

  19. So let me get this straight. We trade Trumbo for 2 arms. We would still need 1 arm in the rotation, when those two arms should fill the roatation. And we would still need to replace Trumbo's bat? I thought trades were to make a team better?
