  4. Chucky is a traitor since he isn't rooting for a team that abandoned L.A.?
  5. I hope it's not as disappointing as this date. It just ruined Halloween.
  6. Considering his agent came out and said he was looking for over $100 million. no thanks.
  7. Masahiro Tanaka rumors: Japanese ace wants $17 million annually So probably 6 @ $17 million. Subtotal of $102 + $20 million posting. so $122 million. Darvish 6/$56 + $51 million posting. Total $107 million. Diaske 5/$52 + $51 million posting. Total $103. It's a bit of an overpay. But still doable.
  8. For me, Twilight Zone should be #1. It's one of those timeless movies. I'd change the order on some, and some don't even belong. I think in the top 60, you have to put Survivor on the list. Not because it was any good. But because it popularized the whole reality tv genre.
  9. Personally, I don't think that's enough. Harper is a mid 800 ops player. He also hasn't played a full season due to small injuries. Plus he plays in the NL, and NL players have a tendency of getting worse in the AL. strasburg is solid though. Trout on the other hand is a .900 ops player that was runner up to the mvp for his first two seasons. I just can't see a 3 person deal that could be made right now. A year from FA'cy after we see how the next 2 years pans out, maybe. But heck, if he wins the MVP next year, even with 1 year left in his contract, you could still be looking at a Teixerra type deal.
  10. There is a reason why it's called trade porn on AW.com. I'm sure on Rayswin.com they are laughing at the posts that the experts here put for Price.
  11. I think the biggest misconception of the article is you are talking about a 12 core xeon processor that is brand spanking new. So the market on motherboards is very limited on it, which will jack up the price of the motherboard. In 6 months, the mac will still be the same price, but the PC version will have dropped through the floor once companies start making the motherboard. Heck, looking at Dell, I don't see them have the 12 core xeon yet. So even the 12 core might be an exclusive or limited quantities which will shoot up the retail price.

  13. Mysterious object halts construction of Seattle's $3 billion tunnel
  14. The thing I'm more concerned about is the miles he put on his arms before he reached the majors.
  15. The arm is definitely a concern. You don't know how he will translate to the MLB workload of less innings more games. Going every 5 days instead of every 7. And what damage has pitching all those innings already done? The other concern I have is him coming to the US and overthrowing the baseball. You see these big guys up to the plate, and all these AW.com posters saying that power pitching is the only way to go in the MLB. The big problem with Diaske and with Tanaka are they aren't power pitchers. Where Darvish was. If he doesn't adjust or someone pushes him to be something he's not, he can quickly become Daiske. Regardless of what anyone says, he is not without significant risks. The question is, is his risk worth the amount of money that will be put up? IMO, a 6/$90/$110 with posting is worth the risk. But when you get into the $120-140 range. You are talking about paying a guy that has never pitched in the MLB close to what we could have paid Greinke. Heck, you subtract Felix's extra year, and he would make 6/$148.
  16. It's all going to depend on price. I have a feeling both will be very expensive. If Garza was going to get a 4 or 5 year/$12-15 million a year deal, he would have signed already. I have a bad feeling that he's looking for a 7 year deal. Yeah, you heard me. He's 30 years old. He doesn't cost a pick. He is probably the best proven MLB player on the market. He will look for that last big payday. Then there is Tanaka. MLB newcomer, so he could be a Matsuzaka or a Darvish. But more than likely, something in between. He's the big fish on the market, and if you look at what teams paid for Matsuzaka and Darvish. Matsuzaka was 6/$52 with $2 bonus and $51 million posting for a total of $105 million. Darvish was 6/$56 with a $51 million posting for a total of $107 million. So IMO, Angels should go 6/$90 on Tanaka not including posting fee, and 5/$75 on Garza. But I think both with go significantly over, Tanaka on the money side, and Garza on the years. And if they do, pass.
  17. I think there has to some kind of a bid timeframe. For Tanaka, he will get max bids. But for other players posted they may not. I just don't know if that period is a few days or a week, or a month.
  18. So what were the posting rules now? One week for bids, then 1 month negotiating period with any team that has equal high bids, in this case, the max bid of $20 million?
  19. If that's the bar, then it's no wonder we haven't made the playoffs since 2009.
  20. It was on this morning on Comedy Central. Forgot how funny of a movie it was.
