    Pena. He had some decent seasons for the Rays. Then his FA year, he laid an egg, and never really rebounded from that. Heck, he was an .800 OPS player not 3 seasons ago. Interesting signing.

    Well, he heard Bert was a soft tossing lefty, and wanted to get some batting practice in. He only found out after he signed up for the gig that only Ernie is allowed to get some batting practice on Bert.

    My gut tells me. Next California site will be whatever stadium it is called in SF. Hockey in the bay would be up there with Hockey on the Beach in Santa Monica.

    The one around home plate was supposed to be an inline staking rink. But when I saw it used on the tube, it looked like they were going the lazy uncoordinated route, and it was kids with hockey sticks running around.

    BTW. Does anyone know what Gretzky said to Getzlaf before the ceremonial first puck drop? I noticed when the captains shook the hands of Gretzky, Gretzky leaned over to Getzlaf and said something, and just shook the Kings players hand.

    Pics or it never happened! How were the sightlines. Looked horrible from TV. Especially if you were stuck in the outfield pavilions, since you wouldn't have any use of the bigscreens. Took a while for me to adjust to the tv angles, since they seemed so far away.

    Nothing like being in the Hooters in Burbank, and being the only person who claps. Ice sucked. I don't think any Ducks got hurt. And we laid a goose-egg on the team the telecasters were rooting for. May we never have another outdoor game again. Although Rosebowl, Coliseum, or Santa Monica Pier would be much more cooler.
