  4. So is Victor in or out? And here comes the jokes. Oh, and Draft is this Sunday so get signed up folks.
  5. I must now rethink what I order from In N Out now. Bun Donut, Root Beer Float, Neopolitan Shake. And the correction/warning. Damn them for putting that in my mind. Now I want to add that to my burger.
  6. In the end, it's a good boys club. Here is a scenario. Offer is $2 billion for the Clippers. Owners being in the good boys club will absolutely know the ramifications of a forced sale. So they know the deal is in place. But they will force sale on Sterling. If what the OPS said is true, then it will save him in taxes a guess of 30-40% some $600 million to $800 million. That will pretty much be shut up and leave money, and prevent him from suing the NBA, and dragging it out further. Now you have a land developer with $2 billion, but may lose $600-800 million of it, if he doesn't spend it in 2 years. And 155 acres of prime property in dispute, that happens to meet that timeframe. I'm sorry, but if he puts that free tax savings in as a bid for the Angels land, Arte or anyone else will not be able to compete. That would mean, to put a new stadium up, it would probably cost Arte more than Yankee Stadium. And CoA will not care. They will see some $600 million into the city coffers.
  7. Ok, I applaud the thought process in this. And if the stadium deal falls through, I can see it happening. From the hypothetical you gave, that is a great incentive for Sterling to buy. And for the stupid price that is expected for the Clippers. This is the damn Clippers mind you. Not even in the hemisphere, although I wish they would burn in hell, especially that fat tub of lard that does the shoe commercials, of the Doggies. 2 billion for the Clippers is just absurd. Even if he offers $1 billion for the angels, considering Arte paid 1 and change, and if his deal for the stadium is indeed in dire straights. It's possible. But there is that whole thing he said. And MLB probably would not approve of the sale. In the end though. A bigger threat might not be the Angels, but the land in which the Angels are on. Because the MLB has no say in who buys that.

  9. Man, between NY and Monte Carlo. That will make Doggie stadium parking look like a speedway before and after a game. Strip is already one tourist/drunk gridlock parking lot already. It's getting to the point that Koval and Paradise are just as bad in traffic.
  10. I like the Camo uni's when the Padres wear them. Because they are wearing them out of respect regarding San Diego's history with the military. Mainly the Marines and Navy. But this is similar to why I hate Jackie Robinson day in the MLB. It's not because I hate JR or his accomplishments. It's that by letting everyone use it, the MLB to me, just made something unique, into something generic and common. They should allow only those that won the Jackie Robinson award to wear it on Jackie Robinson day. Letting everyone wear it, just says I don't care enough to recognize the excelence (yeah I know it's misspelled and I have no idea how to spell it) that is embodied in players that embodies what we are actually celebrating. I say the same should be done on those Military type days. Either the home team that is celebrating a local military should wear them, like San Diego or even Boston on Patriots day. Or individual players that have either served, or have a parent that served should wear the special uni's. Because if you do that, then those uni's are much more meaningful. And ugly or not, you have to respect the guy wearing it.
  11. i think you mean the tax they owe the MLB right? Or more specifically, the % of your local media deal that gets put in a pool to share with the other teams. I think it was 1/3 (going off memory), but the Dogs said they only have to pay 1/3 of like 1/10 of their media deal since 1/10 was for the broadcast rights, and like 9/10 was equivalent to a signing bonus. (again going off memory) In the end though, the Dogs should be worried about Comcast going bankrupt. Because if they do, they will probably only get a fraction of the pot of gold from Fox. And you can look to Houston for examples of Comcast going down in flames.
  12. Cron seems to be made to become a full time DH. Hopefully he does it on the Angels, and not cast off like the Twins cast off their future DH to Boston. But with the philosophy of the Angels, I fear in 6 years, if not sooner, he is gone.
  13. Damn. Can't have fun around here anymore. I guess you can add to the things more durable than Sean Burnett. An Angelswin.com sense of humor.
  14. He was an absolute beast out of the pen for the Pirates. Sad to see him go down in flames like he has. He could have been a huge piece for a run if he was healthy.
  15. figured it out. Downloaded maverick from Mega and wiped the drive.
  16. So. When I got the fortune of "Help, I'm trapped in a fortune cookie factory", I shouldn't have called the Chinese embassy, but the Brooklyn embassy?
  17. First that Angels have to give Mr Beckett something like a painting the first time he's in town to face us to commemorate his feat. Then there will be a stadium giveaway on the last day our team plays him, so we the fans can remember this event.
  18. California Chrome's Humble Beginnings Are Focal Point of Triple Crown Journey So if this article is correct. It went from a $6 million offer before the Santa Anita Derby. To $15 million now. It's to the point now, that if Chrome wins the triple, I'd be disappointed if the owners sold him.
  19. I will have to admit. In like the 3rd grade, I thought it was the Silver War.
  20. When did Santa Barbara get all gnar? Seems they are in the news a lot lately, and for all the wrong reasons.
  21. So you are going to give up on a top prospect, with just 41/57 total GP at the MLB level?
