  1. Chappie. This was a strange film. I liked it, but can see why many people did not. It really delved into a lot of philosophical issues. It's a very dark film. And I thought Hugh Jackmans character kind of took away from the movie. It definitely has the feel of District 9/Elysium. Not as good as District 9. But about on par with Elysium. Thinking about it more, most of the movie dealt with god and parent relationship and parenting questions, with right and wrong decisions that people make. This definitely dealt with AI in a different way than how you see in movies.
  2. The mole was a great reality show. Trying to figure out who the mole was and everything. I didn't realize it was Anderson Cooper who hosted it.
  3. I remember a story on the heart attack grill, and one of it's regulars died of a heart attack. I guess that place is perfect for Vegas, with people indulging all the time.
  4. Ban on American flag at UC Irvine reversed I guess until the other council bans the unban of the ban.
  5. Yeah, downtown isn't that bad a place as it was. They usually have concerts nightly. I think they have two stages set up. While it's still sketchy to go off the path still downtown. They do have some areas that have been improved. Container park is one area. I just wish that path would be better lit, since it gets pretty dark on that side of the street at night. I also like the path to the mob museum. There is a beef jerkey store on that path that has everything. Haven't tried the pizza place or the biker bar yet. Grand is a nice small casino. Their rooms are nice for the price.
  6. F'n summer front. If he would have won, had the pick 4. Shared Belief is just a beast of a horse.
  7. We have one. It does take time for the hot water to kick in. Make sure you keep the heater outside, since it does burn gas and you can smell it. As for maintenance, we haven't had to do any maintenance on it. Probably should. But it's not a yearly thing. No issues with it at all, and by moving the tankless outside, it did clear out a closet in the house.
  8. My friend convinced me to try Chromium for pre-diabetes. The main symptoms I had was tingling of the fingers. After taking the chromium for about a week, that tingling went away. Haven't had a diabedes test in a while, so will be interesting to see what level I'm at now.
  9. This is what I would say. the 21 minutes before I ordered is not part of the equation. That's the consequence of waiting in line. If you wait 21 minutes in line for Habit, which I have the one time I went there. Then you wait. 17 minutes to get food. That could be a number of factors. Stradling could confirm what time it takes to cook a burger. Because they do not cook until you order from what I understand. I do know that Animal fries take a heck of a lot more time to cook. So you could have a holes in front of you that orders animal fries in the drive thru. If I order animal fries I go to the window because I know it takes a while. Could also be big orders in front of you. I've had long lines where it goes quick, and when it takes forever. It's all a matter of what people in front are ordering.
  10. Eighties for Big Cap day. Gonna love it. Suck it Adam going up north.
  11. LOL. Someone has to make a sign with that picture of him. Oh wait, I googled Kessler underwear. OK, Cowgill, you got competition.
  12. Samsung’s Galaxy S6 may have a serious hardware problem that’s unfixableNot as serious as they claim. But still, not a good thing.
  13. This is going to hurt Gotham. Fish was one of the villains that helped the show, and was an interesting story line. Jada Pinkett Smith Leaving Gotham
  14. It's a padded floor. You can see the jagged seams, some of them raising up from the floor.
  15. This cop was great. Police: Slain officer a hero in 'fierce' gun battle with 2
  16. I'm just glad Race 7 is not part of the late pick 4. I haven't fully handicapped it yet. But in Race 7 I do like Ocho. Although the layoff does scare me, he's my Derby pick. Although a trifecta of Dortmund, Ocho, and Nelson looks good. Prospect Park and Pulmarak might be two longshots to look out for. Race 8. She's a big winner and Lutine Belle. Curlin's Fox rings a bell. Race 9. Chitu, Conquest two step, and Wild Dude. Race 10. 2 years ago, it would be Mr. Commons no question. Now..Winning Prize is intriguing. layoff, but last time he came off a layoff, he won here with Bendejo. Brisnet says Summer Front should win 55%+. Race 11. Yeah, next. lol. It's a single.
  17. Lou, I'll be in the bud light zone next to Sirona's bar if you want to stop by.
  18. it'll be interesting to see how they do things. Personally, I like the HRTV personallities better than the TVG party guys. Matt Caruthers is probably the only one that I would want on the HRTV side, since he actually sounds educated about horse racing and not an announcer. So that is the biggest thing that I am worried about. From what I understand, TVG will be showing the bigger tracks and HRTV showing the smaller tracks once it's all said and done. Which is fine. But again, if the personalities are more of a sideshow, then I'll probably just watch Xpressbet feeds, and not watch either station.
  19. One of the jokes back in the day when I used to smoke were, I'd rather breathe LA Air through a filter. It was probably healthier doing it that way also.
  20. From when I was a kid. Absolutely. Let's put it this way. When I was in elementary, jr high, they would have stage smog alerts. I think 3 being death outside. I remember when we were in a stage 3 and couped up inside, and I could barely see the other building next to us in the San Gabriel Valley. In Redlands, during college, after a cold day or a rainy day. You could see the smog come in from LA. While in the IE, it's still bad. It's not nearly as bad as it was. In LA, you rarely get a day when you could see the pollution. The pollution is still there, but not like it was, or is in China.
  21. Sadly, 1896 New York, still had a more advanced public transportation system than present day Los Angeles. Just amazing that some of those structures were built turn on the century.
