  5. I really don't know. Because I don't know what it means to spend $ on the right person. Is the bar Hamilton? Or Pujols? Or Trout? If Moreno is expecting to spend money only on players that he will know be worth it, ie Trout, then we won't be spending any big money this offseason. If he is looking to only spend on future hall of famers, ie Pujols, then that also leaves nobody to spend it on. If he is going to spend on best possible, ie Hamilton, then we might be in business. Moreno also has to realize. That hiring someone from the Yankees, they don't think CBT. They spend on what they need. So hopefully this is a sign that we will spend on what we need and go over the tax.
  6. No. Unless OC register or MLB Trade Rumors has their estimated arbitration figures, I keep it at a +150% of previous salary. So guys like Calhoun and Richards will probably be higher than the norm. Especially Calhoun, since I have the year 2 figure instead of the arb 1 figure that will be a million or so more. So expect the salaries to go up a bit. It'll only be like a few million. But when you are already close to cap, every few matter. In other words, if we don't go over the tax, we are screwed.
  7. Yes, because you can make them wider, but you can't add legroom. Without a major overhaul that is. This will also decrease the number of seats in the arena. Which is already on the low end of NHL stadiums.
  8. Seats were really beginning to show it's age. I'm not a big guy at all. And thought the seats were small. And this was near center ice on the lower level.
  9. Only thing I found. Although the map is kind of cool to play around with. http://calwatchdog.com/2014/04/24/map-still-the-anaheim-angels-of-anaheim/ http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04/24/upshot/facebook-baseball-map.html#6,34.573,-120.648
  10. Raffi Torres apologizes for Silfverberg hit, accepts 41-game suspension Maybe it's dawning on him that he could end people's careers, lives with his hits? At least he finally decided to man up. Saturday, Ducks better keep their elbows tucked and go shoulder to shoulder all game. I have a feeling it's going to be a tightly called game. Oh, and WTF. Everyone had their starts. And we have to wait till Saturday?
  11. Grew old faster than a normal MLB pitcher. But didn't grow old faster than a normal Weaver.
  12. I didn't know there was an Alaskan league. Is that where players like Trout go to hone their skills?
  13. Why would the Dodgers want to trade for a starting pitcher? They are already eyeing a pitcher.
  14. Per AO. Updated the list. Things to note. Calhoun is going to be close to Super 2. Last year, the cutoff was 2.140 service time. Calhoun should be around a 2.130 service time. If he gets super 2, add a few million to the kitty. Dejesus ($5/$1) and Murphy ($7/$0.5) have options. I only included the buyout amount. Remember that the first tab is projected opening day salary. The second tab is the Competitive Balance Tax salary. The threshold for 2016 is $189 million. From my calcs, we are around $162 million on the tax. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tWP2l9vnCH0dIA5m4IFIDwowquzxut8_xjcl5-ETuE8/edit?usp=sharing
  15. Guess the cooler ran out of red. I'd be pissed too.
  16. Outside of not having a removable battery or sd card. Haven't heard anything bad about the note. I probably would have gotten the galaxy s6, if it had a battery/card. Really with all of the top end phones, I don't think you can go wrong. It all comes down to the little things that differenciate the makers.
  17. Hero in French train attack reportedly stabbed Way to represent, California! /sigh
  18. Now you are infringing on my Freedom of Speech. Where is my gun, I must protect my rights!
  19. So 8 cylinders is overkill. And 12 cylinders, what's the point, since you can't drive that fast anyways. Well, unless you are on the city streets of Beverly Hills.
  20. Difference is, the Russians don't care. They only care about chewing gum and kicking ass. And they don't chew gum. Eventually, these ISIS and Al Queda guys will realize that if they get captured by the US. They get 3 square meals, have the US Justice department protecting them from torture, in some bahaman prison. If they get captured by Russia, it's off to Siberia, where Assad will seem like a very democratic and compassionate leader.
  21. Such goodness in this thread. Wonder what happened to the kid? Although jalepeno jack and cheese does sound good.
  22. Iraq leans toward Russia in war on Islamic State /sigh. That is just depressing to read.
