  1. Comcast’s attempt to bash Google Fiber backfires hilariously
  2. sigh. Would have made more of a difference if they built 43 hydrogen, natural gas, or electric stations in the US.
  3. I'm looking forward to this series. What strange, is that there is something very familiar about this storyline. Like this is a remake of a series, but can't figure it out which one.
  4. It was an interesting episode. Felt bad for the goat though. But at least Morgans character is making more sense.
  5. Yup. The business models of papers really need to change. It's one thing to have Pulitzer prize winning articles which occur maybe once a year if that. It's also another to break some scandal, which happens once a year if that. They need things to draw people in, and want to read or miss out. Especially in this day of the internet. There is so much information out there that is not reported. And they are not tapping all the potential sources.
  6. That's what I usually use the speed figures for. I usually look at the race rating, subtract 5-10 from it. And toss any horse that has not come within in the last 10 races. At least for the win.
  7. Anyone else get thrown off by daylight savings. I am usually ok in the spring. But when you fall back. I am just totally off.
  8. Then Strad would have to bleach his body for letting something Ranger touch his skin. Let alone he'd have to go out and buy a Rangers Tshirt. Might as well give that money to a stripper. Which there probably was a few at his party.
  9. Actually, if you are rich enough and are able to buy the semi, and you pass the driving test. You probably can drive it. If you don't have your own semi, and pass the driving test. Not sure any companies or rental places will let you rent/hire you to drive theirs. My buddy got a job driving one of those smaller food delivery trucks, not semi more like an oversized uhaul, and come to think of it, I don't even think he needed a different license or had any training driving trucks. Although he did get fired for not doing his route fast enough.
  10. Nope. Because if he wore that same outfit next year, no one will know what he is.
  11. Yes, but next time you go to the grocery store. Will you buy the smaller fruit and vegetables, or the larger ones? Especially when say the price is 5 for $1 (although not much seems to be 5 for $1 anymore)? My guess is, most people, including wine drinkers, would chose the larger ones. The apricot farmer actually had to rename his apricots to petite apricots, because people would not buy the smaller ones.
  12. It's not because of regulation. It's because of their business model. Their business model will do just fine with some regulation. Unless you think making their drivers have class D licenses, insurance, background checks including drug tests, proper maintenance of their vehicles will just make things so unaffordable? These are basic things that affect the driver, and whether they think the cost benefit is worth it. Won't affect fares at all.
  13. Funny. I thought their main appeal was convenience and a relatively cheap fare. Again, I am all for independent contractors and them doing their thing. But they still should follow some rules and regulations. Just because I'm an independent contractor, shouldn't mean, I can build the addition to your house. Or make some alcohol to sell. Or drive a truck. Or sell you stocks. Or sell you insurance. Or call you in the middle of the night trying to sell you something.
  14. With a taxi company, you can report the driver to the taxi company or the government agency, think it's DOT in California. And since it has to be in a visible and unobstructed view, anyone can see it. With rideshares, you have to rely on whatever system that company has in place. Some could be good. Some could be bad.
  15. Exactly. Which is why all taxi and limo drivers are licensed. Which is why, especially on Limo's, you see those TCP numbers in California. Those are regulations.
  16. Wonder if they have some games of the High School Tourney. Heard that is just an unreal experience.
  17. I think they are about as popular as Almond Joys. Although as I get older, I don't mind them as much.
  18. It would mean I would have to go to Wisconsin. So no. But if he has another tv for sale........And yes Nate it still works.
  19. I think he is right, depending on what is considered regulation. And I don't know what regulations that Uber and like companies are required currently, but I believe that companies like those companies should be held to the same regulations as Taxi and Limo companies.
  20. As long as the pizza is made well. I'm not too picky on what is on it. Except for seafood.
  21. It actually feels weird if I don't have my seatbelt on. On an odd sidenote, I also keep my seatbelt on at all times on planes. It doesn't bother me there either.
  22. There was a apricot farmer in Northern California that was commenting on watering practices. He was saying that on his farm, he cut down watering considerably on his farm. The interesting thing he found out about this was that the apricot's were smaller. But he said that those apricots were fuller in flavor. He pretty much said that consumers equate bigger with better in produce. And to get bigger, you need to water more. But in things like fruit, bigger isn't better.
  23. What is it with Scotts and unidentified sea monsters.
  24. If it was ISIS, do you really want to poke the bear? This could be just the thing that Putin needs to really fire that country up.
