  1. Man, it's too bad the currently in construction Pink Line isn't closer. It's supposed to stop at Inglewood City hall. With the line passing probably 3 blocks away on the other side of the cemetery from the Forum and new stadium.
  2. I never knew about this cover until today. Bowie called it his favorite cover. And Bowie fought his publishers when they took it down from Youtube for copyright infrindgement.
  3. Restaurant Staff Buys Winning $900 Million Powerball Ticket for the Wrong Day Ouch.
  4. They should squeeze a billion from Kroenke for moving the Rams. Build the stadium for the Chargers. Then squeeze a billion from the Raiders and move them to England.
  5. Kroenke will soon have a lot of land available for development.
  6. ABC is reporting it's the Raiders and Chargers. Man, this is going to get ugly.
  7. Salary might be the biggest part of it. Cam is making $4 million vs Theo $863k. Which also means that Theo doesn't reach RFA for 3 years. But if you are giving up Cam, you better be getting something amazing in return. Regarding Tampa though, they are in a complete salary crunch. So cams salary will probably be a big deterrent. Which is why a RFA or Gull is more of a logical choice.
  8. Marlins To Sign Wei-Yin Chen5/$80 is what my phone alerted me it was.
  9. No way would I trade Theo. We will need him in the future, not only as a player, but his salary to balance out all our higher salaries. As a rookie, he's already getting 21 minutes a game. And it seems like he's getting in at crucial points of the game also.

  11. Here's Mark Cuban's advice for whoever wins the $1.4 billion Powerball lotteryCuban says get it in installments. In case you win the Powerball lottery, Wells Fargo has some adviceOddly, Wells says take it at once. What's the tax bill on a $1.4B Powerball win?So $1.4 billion is really only $868 million. Then the Feds take 25%, but your rate is really 39.6%. So they immediately take $217 million. But the total simple tax bill is $343.728 million. So you will have between $651 million to $524 million. If you live in a sucky state like New York. They get other taxes for state, local, city to the tune of about another 15%. So another $130 million. So you are left with $521 million to $394 million.
  12. Monkey. You are Asian. If you won $1.5 billion. Your parents will expect it to be $3 billion in 3 years.

  14. Remember that he has a clause that allows him to block a trade to 8 teams. Not sure who those teams are, but they are probably the non contending teams like the Marlins, Phillies, etc. Another thing in regards to CJ that people have to take into account. His value goes down as soon as the season starts. As shown this offseason, those draft picks are very valuable now. And having a sandwich pick probably doesn't have a value like losing a first rounder (I think $10 million is the value they put on the first rounder). So you would think the sandwich would be worth at least $5 million? So with $20 million owed for 2016. Probably the absolute maximum the Angels will want to contribute if they traded him is $15 million. But probably less than that.
  15. Could be that they wouldn't be interested in either Vatanen or Lindholm due to their RFA status. No matter how good they are. They might be looking more at the farm. And definitely Ritchie, Gibson, and Theodore are untouchable (yeah I know 2 of the 3 are up at the big club). But you still have high quality in guys like Montour and Scarbossa and Noessen. Even kerdiles and mueller might get some interest.
  16. I'm almost thinking one of those two will sign a one year deal and come back to the market when it is truely lacking in any kind of substance. Just all hypothetical. But if Cespedes hits like he did last year. Then the 6/$150+ might very well be attainable. Plus, look at it this way. Won't cost a draft pick, and you offer him arb and get a pick next year. I can really see someone offering him a 1/$30. Upton is also young enough to do the one year thing. He is more of a steady record, but some may be hesitant since it has been only in the NL. If he signs with an AL, and proves he can hit it in a season. Then the skys the limit in a bad 2016-17 FA class. But I think Upton has the most to lose in a 1 year deal. If he signs with an AL team, and can't hit the AL, then his value will plummet. Cespedes has the power going for him. He has the north of 500 slg, he is an RBI and Run scorer. I know some discount it as a stat. But for me, those are some of the most important stats for a cleanup hitter. If you don't have someone that can score, then it won't matter how many people you put on base. So if Upton does sign a 1 year deal, my bets will be it's with a NL club.
  17. As it stands right now. I like the traffic getting into and out of. Especially the direct route to and off the 5 fwy carpool lane. Most of the parking is good, although the under the fwy exit does get congested at times. I've never had a problem on the State Street exit. And never used the Orangewood exit. Also, exiting the stadium itself before you get to the car is smooth. With the old style ramps going down, it's very easy to get from seats to car, without too many issues even from the top level. By far, the easiest of the stadiums I've been to. Field is visually ok to look at. Ever since they took down the mausoleum and converted to pure baseball, the outfield isn't bad. That one clear day you can even see the mountains. Seats and the Suites are a bit antiquated. everything runs parallel to the foul lines. So the further you get away from the infield, the more you have to strain to watch the game. As you can see from the pizza throw in even Boston, those outfield seats are facing the infield, for a better view of who you want to throw your pizza at. I really do not think that this is a simple fix, since it's structural in nature. Bathrooms. Never had a problem. But I hear the plumbing might be the issue. Food and Drinks. There are plenty of vendors. It's just that they suck. I think some have said the inner workings of the concession areas are bad. Just not sure how much I believe that, because no matter how bad the workings are, you should not get a flat and soggy hot dog. Advertisements. Just blinding. And it's everywhere. One of the bigger reasons I don't like watching the game live at the stadium. It's just horrible. I usually end up with a migrane if I go to a game. Train. I do like that the train is right there.
  18. Might be the reason why no one seems to be pursuing him. Yoenis Cespedes wants $150 million and no one wants to give it to him
  19. Countdown to SABR Day 2011: 1960s Cobbette – Did David Bowie play for the Bluejays (Dulwich)? Small article. But sounds like Bowie at least for a brief minute played baseball in England when he was a kid.

  21. Come on Adam. Wouldn't you be tempted to put $100g's on a 50-1 longshot. Just so that you can say, I affected a 50-1 longshot so much, that he became the 1-9 favorite?
  22. Posting drunk leads to great things. I know.
  23. WTF AO. No rain at all for the next week. Better put up an Amber Alert. El Nino is lost.
