  1. Right now, we stand at the #17 pick. If the Orioles sign Davis, I believe we move up to #16. This year, those who lost a qualifying offer in compensation starts at #27. But this was a very large compensation class. From the sounds of it, next years draft class is very devoid of any substance. So it could very well be a very low number of compensation players. Thus a higher compensation pick in the 29+ area. So while we will get a pick back. It will be much lower in order.
  2. Personally, I think Cespedes fits the lineup well, and would move Pujols to 5. 5/$100 would be fair for both sides, whoever signs him.
  3. I think Bruce did the best thing, in benching Getzlaf for I think they said almost 9 minutes, which really sent a message to him. I also think Getzlaf did the best thing, in not pouting, not pointing fingers, not arguing with the coach. But accepting it, and trying his best to help the team while in the doghouse. That he came back out, and made a slick pass to get Theo his first goal/point/GW was big.
  4. Adam, I'm still going to ask to borrow some money to bet on that longshot that's a sure thing regardless.
  5. Al Jazeera America to shut downNo surprise here. Especially after the steroid fiasco.
  6. Watching the news tonight. There was a huge hostage situation in Iran. News think it's a war worthy incident.
  7. Wow, what a last few minutes of the game. This is the ducks I remember.
  8. Ducks smell blood. That goal from Theodore was pretty. That goal from Hagelin was ugly but effective.
  9. This thread can only get better. Everyone take a nyquil shot.
  10. A bad horrible round of golf, is still better than a great day at work.
  11. Wait, I thought you broke up with her after taking her to Taylor Swift.
  12. Union station. Get on the red/purple line to I forget the station name you get off on. Something park, maybe Lafayette, but it's where the blue line currently ends. Blue line, to convention center. 2/3 stops I think. It's across the street. They are currently expanding the blue line so that it goes to Union Station.
  13. NHL: Anaheim Ducks Pursuing Jonathan Drouin Trade, Per Report At least we are showing interest. Unlike a certain team down the road. Montour for Drouin sounds fair.
  14. Written a year ago. What about that Spanos money? This was in November of 2015. How Much Is Each NFL Owner Worth? Also remember, the relocation fee is $500 million, on top of however much they have to invest in the stadium. I don't know if the Chargers or Raiders can afford to move now that Kroenke is firmly established.
  15. I wonder. What is the DUI rate in say NY City? What is the DUI rate in Los Angeles. And the reason I ask is, NY, you can pretty much get anywhere in a taxi or train. Not so in Los Angeles. Also in NY, I think they can drink till like 4 or 5. Might even be 24 hours. I am really liking the fact that I can get to many places now using the train. Add to that, wherever I go, whether the Track or Angels/Ducks game, I can drink however much I want, and jump back on the train to get home with no worries. The train system could be better. Like there isn't much connecting OC to IE, or OC to LB (I say that because Long Beach is the end of the Blue line) You have the Green line in that bottom area, but it doesn't go all the way through to even connect to Metro going north south to OC. You also don't have a connection north spreading across the valley. Only connections that move away from LA to the valley.
  16. Here is food for thought. Do the Spanos or Davis' have $1 billion dollars to give to Kroenke for their share of the stadium? There is no public funds to help bail them out of this one. They probably both don't want to be tenants. And for the Raiders, it will be even more difficult. Because it'll be a year before they even get the option. And when they do, Kroenke can really tighten the screws on them. At least right now, the Rams and Chargers can negotiate something equitable since nothing really started yet. But a year from now, when they are in full swing of construction. Raiders will have very little say in anything.
  17. I think a decision has to be made soon. The opt out is 2019. And to build a world class stadium will probably take 2-3 years.
  18. Rams headed back to Los Angeles; Chargers have option to join 30-2 vote. Interestingly, Chargers and Raiders will receive $100 million towards their stadiums if they stay in SD/Oakland.
  19. Man, it's too bad the currently in construction Pink Line isn't closer. It's supposed to stop at Inglewood City hall. With the line passing probably 3 blocks away on the other side of the cemetery from the Forum and new stadium.
  20. I never knew about this cover until today. Bowie called it his favorite cover. And Bowie fought his publishers when they took it down from Youtube for copyright infrindgement.
  21. Restaurant Staff Buys Winning $900 Million Powerball Ticket for the Wrong Day Ouch.
  22. They should squeeze a billion from Kroenke for moving the Rams. Build the stadium for the Chargers. Then squeeze a billion from the Raiders and move them to England.
