  1. The narrative surrounding the possibility of trading Trout (no matter how unlikely) isn't going to go away. It comes with the territory when a player of his magnitude plays on a team that struggles for wins, let alone making the postseason. The narrative around his eventual decline isn't going away either. Nothing lasts forever, especially in sports. Time will tell with Mike Trout. I'm just going to enjoy every game Mike Trout plays in an Angels uniform for however long that lasts.
  2. I'm fully vaccinated and boosted. As things started to "settle down" - I started taking less precautions. Prior to this, I took extra precautions because my wife and I are caregivers to her mom, who needs lots of help. We rarely, if ever went anywhere and when we did, we wore a mask and tried to be as safe as possible. Mostly to protect my mother-in-law. We had just started to do a little bit more recently and went to a couple Angels games. It was a treat for us because again, we hardly ever go out because of our obligations to my wife's mom and the lack of willingness of anyone else in the family to take care of her. Well, we went to a game with some friends on a Tuesday. Their adult daughter had just returned from a trip overseas the previous Sunday. She sat next to my wife during the game. Wednesday morning, I get a text from my friend that their daughter tested positive for Covid. We were a little freaked out. If one or both of us got sick, we didn't know who would take care of my wife's mom. And we certainly didn't want my mother-in-law to get Covid. It was an anxious time for sure. Fortunately, we never caught Covid. We tested, we quarantined, etc. We felt like we dodged a bullet. I don't know if it was just luck or if being vaccinated, etc. helped us in this case. I'm back to being cautious. I don't give a rip if anyone thinks that silly or dumb or whatever. I'm doing what I think is right for my family. We have members within our own extended family who aren't vaccinated and when they've been sick, don't even bother to get tested. I think they're selfish. My point in all of this is if you don't want to get vaccinated, that's your choice. But your choices can have consequences for others. It's like the commercial a few years back about a guy who said his wife nagged him about smoking. He told her "it's my life." When she died from his second-hand smoke, he said... "SHE was my life." He realized that too late. The thing I don't get about those who choose not to get vaccinated is they can be so belligerent about it and attack those who choose to be vaccinated, wear masks, etc. The bravado BS is stupid too. I'll stop my rant now.
  3. And in California... You can pick up trash on the beach, aluminum cans out of the trash bins, and anything out of a retail store, as long as it costs less than $1,000.
  4. Question about "The Americans" In the show, the Russians frequently say each other's full names in their conversations. Is that really a thing? Imagine... Erica Weston: That was quite a game you had tonight, Mike Trout. Mike Trout: Why thank you, Erica Weston. Anyone else wonder about this?
  5. Most accomplished or greatest athlete? There's a difference. To me "greatest athlete" is not about titles or records... For that reason, I'd say Bo Jackson.
  6. We can all live vicariously through him now as he eventually makes the major league roster and goes on to win a World Series.
