  1. Your brown nosing is working. Congratulations.
  2. If someone would have bet me that cals would become a moderator before Ohtani would be traded, I would have lost that bet. On the other hand... if cals can become a moderator, Arte can change too. There is hope after all!
  3. The problem with this take is that we don't have any control over what will happen... in the meantime, you can believe whatever you want. There are no absolutes.
  4. 8. Angels extend Ohtani and provide him with opt outs after 1, 3 and 5 years.
  5. THE most amazing thing about all of this is that I had no idea @cals was actually capable of talking baseball. Did someone hack his account?
  6. How do you keep anyone healthy? You need to ask better questions.
  7. Keep spewing that narrative. We have no idea what the coming off season will look like. It's possible that Moreno spends more to make the team better and convinces Ohtani to stay. But we all see what we want to see. Time will tell.
  8. Was it? I haven't read anything that shows workouts like this impacted his back. If there is such an article, I'd like to see it.
  9. For a guy who has never told us where he went to college, you sure have a lot of degrees.... Law, Kinesiology, Medical, Economics, Marketing, etc., etc.
  10. And what gives you that opinion, a kinesiology degree or some direct proof that this exercise contributed to his back condition?
  11. I get that. I like Vladdy a ton, but Hunter will always be my favorite. I will say that when the Angels signed Vlad, he was THE reason we bought season tickets. I kept saying... the Angels just signed the best player in baseball, tickets are going to be hard to come by. Every time we went to a game, I kept thinking how lucky are we that we get to watch him play for the Angels.
  12. Today's conversation has me thinking.... The idea of the Angels buying a championship team doesn't resonate with me. I will probably never see a team like the 2002 team again. Although that's kind of sad, I'm also thankful that I have that memory. For some, it's all about winning and losing. For some of us, it's about the memories baseball creates for us.
  13. My one exception is Torii Hunter. He was my favorite player before he became an Angel and when he became an Angel, I was very, very happy.
  14. Exactly. When the Lakers signed Karl Malone and Gary Payton... I was like WTF? Those guys were the "enemy" and now I'm expected to cheer for them? That being said... the Angels are at that point in time - where they have to go out and get guys who aren't home grown to compete. They F'd up the farm system and don't have much choice, unfortunately.
  15. ^^^ This I bought season tickets in 2004 and for several years, our section was full of season ticket holders. Most of them came often. It was like the movie "Fever Pitch" and that section was sort of like our "summer family." As the losing started, the number of season ticket holders dwindled until eventually, we were the only ones left. This past season, we finally gave them up. Mostly because of family obligations - but the incentive to stay wasn't there. The team was bad and all our "friends" had left. In fact, they'd been gone for years. When we cancelled our season tickets - they told us if we just bought a mini plan for this year - we could keep our "seniority" if we renewed next year. We didn't. People might still be fans, but they're not showing up at the stadium. The drop off is real. As a side note - we still keep in touch with some of old crew... we even went to an Angel game earlier this year with some of them.
