  1. I don't care how they do it... I just want them to win at least 3. I don't care if the runs are earned or unearned... I just want victory. Icing on the cake... Puig goes 0 for... Kershaw is shelled.
  2. This thread needs some input from some Tiger fans to make it more entertaining.
  3. Something to consider before anyone crowns anyone just yet.... How many WS titles did Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz win together? Just asking.
  4. I'm a huge Tulo fan... I love dirtbags... but Tulo is just hurt too much and would probably cost way too much for the Angels to acquire.
  5. This board is so cruel sometimes....
  6. If you go back and look at the historical records of standings - you'll notice back when there were only two divisions in baseball... it was common place for a team to win 90+ games and not make the play-offs because only two teams made it in. Even in this era - the Cards snuck in the door in 2006 with just 83 wins and won it all. Baseball isn't always fair.
  7. he's the kind of guy who would pour the gatorade on himself.
  8. I don't know about this Wilson guy pitching tonight at Arkansas... seems a little old to be at AA. He looks more like a race car driver than a baseball player, if you ask me.
  9. I don't look at as teams being "punished" - it's just the way things worked out that particular season. Again, I know it's not perfect, but I can live with it. Not like I have much of a choice, right? That being said, if the Angels end up with the second best record in baseball and lose a one game WC game, I won't be happy about it...
  10. eaterfan - You should be rewarded for winning your division. Winning the most games isn't necessarily a barometer of the best teams because of the unbalanced schedule. I want to see the best teams from each division go head to head. It's not perfect, but I like it.
  11. To be fair... I heard on mlbnetwork radio this morning that only 3 starting pitchers in the PCL has an ERA on 3.50.
  12. Reminds me of the time the Brian Roberts bobble heads showed up with the wrong skin color....
  13. I like it. Winning the division gives you a distinct advantage... as it should be. I also think it's as fair as can be when you factor in teams play an unbalanced schedule.
  14. This past home stand gave me more hope in a promising outcome for the rest of the season, that's for sure. I can't wait for the ten remaining head to head games the Angels have with Oakland.
  15. I think that when you see a player every day you tend to take them for granted... and you also put them under a microscope. Aybar has had more than his fair share of moments that make fans do face palms. Sometimes that stuff is hard to forget. I remember hearing a couple years ago about his "leadership" qualities and it wasn't until this year that I began to understand and observe that about him. I appreciate that he genuinely seems to love playing baseball and it appears that his teammates seem to like him a great deal. He's certainly having his best year ever, IMO.
  16. I've been critical of Aybar for a long time... I often refer to him as "Gilligan" - but I have to confess, he's won me over this year.
  17. it's sad when I can't keep up with all the topics... Let's see... Fire Sosh Fire Butcher Albert sucks... Cron over Raul Navarro over Cron Weaver is not an ace... Hamilton may never homer again Play Calhoun every day Joe Thatcher sucks C.J. Wilson is done Howie is still over-rated Angels go 3-4, board panics... How will this team ever dig its way out of the hole its in?
  18. so, he's not the next Troy Glaus?
  19. No Navarro? Fire Sosh! J/K Man, I'm looking forward to this pitching match-up.
  20. The new WAR... Wins Above Reagins.
  21. How about we only start him on days ending in "y"
  22. There are definite similarities and I'm enjoying this season a great deal. I don't want this ride to end... I love the role players on this team and the way different guys step up all the time. Watching this team is fun again.
  23. How about the game immediately following the Frieri trade... knowing he wasn't going to be the closer.
