    they announced that so far the cost to build the website has been $600 million. when congress asked the website builders how much more it would cost to fix it they said they had no idea.

    every year there are a couple of weeks where nothing goes as expected. this whole year has been like that for me. i just can't get on track.

    maybe congress can delay funding to the obama presidential library in a few years, just as a way of saying "thanks, obama!"

    these ads go right to the lowest denominator pretty quickly. i now believe colorado encourages it's citizens to be drunks and whores. the only thing they're missing are some kardashians.

    the efforts to show appreciation to our military today have come about, i believe, from our failure as a nation to appreciate what a lot of soldiers went through in vietnam. all of our veterans need to know how much we appreciate their work on our collective behalf, and i'm okay with all of the acknowledgements they continue to receive. if i see soldiers in uniform, i usually try to shake their hands and tell them thanks whenever possible, especially at airports.

    fair enough. i needed to include the al qaeda training camps and the fact that they hid bin laden for a while. that's accurate. i agree with your comment about iraq, also.

    i'm telling you . . . in the 2016 election, hilary is going to sweep to victory and fix not only the democrats, but she'll fix obamacare and be hailed as our savior/national hero. that is, until all of our financial institutions go belly up and the stock market crashes and our money becomes worthless. but at least we'll have insurance. and death squads.

    we've had plenty of discussions on this board about tipping food servers. someone here found a page on FB about tipping and told the rest of us about it. i went to take a look and it was pure chaos. people had awakened the sleeping giant and kept poking him with a sharp stick.

    Those of us who remember those days will never forget that obvious flaw.

    I'm grateful that they're willing to serve, and even more so since I didn't. That said, there's an interesting point about them protecting our freedoms right now. Afghanistan is not a direct threat to us, nor is the Taliban. I think I'd feel more like my freedoms were being protected if the afghanis/Taliban were at war with us, if that makes sense.
