Today I watched the One Direction DVD "This Is Us" with my daughter. You can pretty much send me my father of the year award now.

When they showed the players being selected after the game today, my wife couldn't believe how short and uncoordinated the players were. It took a little effort to convince her that those were kids wearing jerseys to represent the players selected, but she finally understood.

It's baffling to me how outraged all the news outlets are when Fox News does or says something stupid, as if a conservative viewpoint is so out of bounds. But yet, when one of their own does or says something equally as outrageous, there's hardly a peep from their own side. They all blow.

WAR OPS+ wRC+ wOBA fWAR counting stats how do you decide which one of these categories to use? that's part of my issue in the modern era of player evaluation. as for salmon, here's what i know: he could hit for power, he could take a walk, he had a cannon of an arm in right field and he fielded his position well. he also stayed out of the newspaper for controversy or cheating. use any measure you wish, but he was the best player the team produced, and fans recognized his talent and his value. he's not HOF worthy in cooperstown, but i have no doubt he'll be enshrined in anaheim. i'd put his number up on the wall in right without hesitation.

agree 100%. the most satisfying thing though is that salmon has a ring. that can sure make up for a lot of things.
