    fort lauderdale needs to be on someone's list. was there last spring and was completely amazed at the staggering number of people who cross the street wherever the heck they feel like it, regardless of traffic or lights. i feel lucky that i didn't kill anyone.

    if it ever snowed here in l.a., the whole city would just come to a screeching halt. we don't even know how to drive in rain - snow would just paralyze us.

    i wish conan still had the tonight show. he was a good fit for it. whether it was leno wanting his job back or the execs at nbc pulling strings, i wish he would have kept the job. i give fallon credit for doing a good job his first week. his monologue was improved, and i even laughed a couple of times.

    on a personal note, i'd like to congratulate all the taggers in california's central valley. they've managed to tag every bathroom mirror, soap dispenser, and towel dispenser/air blower for three hundred miles in every restaurant and rest stop, and that couldn't have been an easy task. well done, lads.

    i think i've only seen american hustle and gravity, and i liked both of them very much. of those two, i hope american hustle wins. it was a fascinating movie and i liked it very much. gravity reminds me a lot of titanic (i liked both of them) and i'm afraid voters might vote for it based on how huge the scenary was plus the special effects, and not so much on the content of the movie.

    the first one is the only one that looked 3D to me. that eye ball was freaky. wouldn't want to see that guy in person.

    apparently during the rain delay fox ran tape of last year's 500. tons of fans didn't realize it and posted all kinds of comments online. jimmy johnson, last year's winner, even got a bunch of phone calls and texts from friends congratulating him. he was inside watching "the jungle book" with his daughter and had no idea what had happened on tv.

    i went to carlsbad once when they had the opening tournament of champions event there, before it moved to hawaii. i invited tiger woods to dinner after his round. he wouldn't even look up at me and acknowledge me. jerk.

    then you're probably not going to like this years tournament. they're at pine hills in north carolina and i think most or maybe all of the greens are crowned. i don't know anyone who thinks crowned greens are a good idea.

    16 hour flight there and a 16 hour flight home. I wouldn't be very excited, either, to start the season that way.

    Had to use two rest stop bathrooms on my way home from Lodi today. Managed to survive okay.
