    thought the local news last night would have some kind of teaser about how well the Kings have been playing. once again, i have assumed too much when it comes to local hockey coverage. idiots.

    seems to be okay. he was conscious for a good deal of it and even asked about how much time was left in the period while he was at the hospital. i'm glad they postponed the game. imagine trying to go back on the ice and play while wondering if your teammate was still alive. no bueno.

    that's one of the reasons that the public outcry from congress and the president over what Snowden did was so unbelievable.

    he was roaming around my neck of the woods prior to being captured. several of our teachers were greatly concerned about their personal safety. there was great relief when he was finally caught. one of the rumors i've heard a couple of times is that he converted to christianity before his death, specifically the seventh day adventist church. haven't seen any confirmation, however.

    so i take it no one sailed off into the teeth of a hurricane, then mysteriously showed up in an oregon lumber mill last night.

    which is odd because we had a very, very cold december this winter.

    4-2 win over the oilers for their 7th win in a row. hitting on all cylinders right now and looking great. tomorrow night they're in calgary against a team that has 8 rookies. hopefully they keep it going strong. jonathan quick needs one more win to tie rogie vachon for most wins all time for a goalie for the franchise. he also needs 3 more shutouts to tie rogie for most all time for the franchise.

    Reed was kind of an incredibly arrogant guy in the post-win interview. "i'm one of the top 5 players in the world right now." uh, buddy, that should be something we tell you, not something you tell us. take a breath. keep playing this way, and you'll hear it from us a lot.

    He said his back was in a lot of pain yesterday and it only got worse as the day went on. Hope he's okay today.
