  1. This thread is the equivalent of SOTO driving up and down Santa Monica blvd with his car windows open and a $20 in hand. Good luck attracting new fans, buddy.
  2. I think Mosul also has fallen. We were publicly worried here about factional fighting more than Al Qaeda coming in and taking over. Oops.
  3. I wasn't confident enough to say anything then. I would say something today. What would you have done when you were 22?
  4. this dude had some time to kill at the las vegas airport the other night, so he did this. http://gawker.com/man-trapped-overnight-at-vegas-airport-shoots-ridiculou-1588889578?utm_campaign=socialflow_gawker_facebook&utm_source=gawker_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow
  5. someone's expensive sunglasses went flying overboard, too.
  6. do you spend much time around juveniles? there is nothing rational about their thought process. when they spend hours and hours watching and role playing conflict resolution with violence, guess what they're going to think is the proper way to handle conflict? dismissing that kind of impact on kids is dangerous. the kind of music some of these kids listen to also has an impact. you can't compare how you as an adult process games and role playing and music with how a 13 or 14 year old processes it. rational thoughts and maturity are not part of the equation.
  7. i agree. not everyone wants or needs to watch. and let's face it, if there's a boob out in public, guys are gonna look. just some discretion and a little more privacy. i was at a little restaurant in college where table space was limited. i was alone at a big table when a couple asked if they could join me. sure, why not. all of a sudden, mom whips out this giant boob and little timmy starts nursing. no warning, no discretion, nothing. it was uncomfortable to say the least.
  8. two pucks - TWO!- stopped by the snow. no way to explain that. the first goal was a beautiful tip in of a shot going about 3 feet wide. st. louis' goal barely slips under quick's leg. the rangers caught the breaks tonight just like the Kings did monday night. on to game 5.
  9. Feed away, but please use some discretion. Some women seem to be getting pretty militant about breast feeding any time any place.
  10. Then without a dialogue, the problem will never be addressed or solved and things will just continue. We need a solution.
  11. And here I thought he was the sausage king of Chicago.
  12. you guys are idiots. it's ralston schmidt.
  13. here ya go, i.e.. you have to supply your own gum, however.
  14. access is one issue, but it's not the only issue. while i agree that more guns in circulation is part of the problem, a greater issue is kids thinking that violence is their only option in resolving conflict. i'm gonna say what many here will hate, but there is a direct correlation between all these violent games kids play for hours on end and how they see options in how to deal with difficult situations in real life. cite whatever you sources you want, but by beholding we become changed.
  15. just think of hilary. that should take care of any temptation.
  16. it's so much more rewarding than i can begin you to tell you. i love my kids and have so much fun with so many of them. you don't know fun until you can drop in lyrics from songs by one direction into a test and see kids trying to hold back their laughter.
  17. well we don't have the tons of parental indifference you find in a public school. we also don't have near the quantity of drug and alcohol problems. outside of that, i can't really tell you too many other differences as i've been in a private school all 30 years of my career.
  18. dear women, you don't need training. we promise to change. seriously, this time we mean it. sincerely, men
  19. two things that need to change: 1. improve background checks and make sure mental health checks are part of it 2. find ways to reduce the number of illegal weapons that are out there on the loose
  20. i think this is an excellent opportunity to revise the process and time required to eliminate bad teachers. isn't that really the problem these kids are bringing up in their lawsuit? tenure works well for good teachers - you want to give them whatever job security you can to encourage them to keep doing amazing and meaningful things in the classroom. but you likewise need to find an easier way to rid the system of those who aren't good at it or don't really know how to connect to the kids. any revisions made to this process need to place a higher mandate on administrators to make sure they're conducting the proper steps in supervising the teachers at their school.
