headed to my brothers time share next week and went shopping for some dvds to watch while we're out there. found season one of breaking bad for $10 and bought it. it's been highly regarded around here so thought i'd give it a try. not sure if i'll like it.

i just bought a new car. it comes with a plug in (a small rca plug) that connects to my phone so i can play my music directly from my phone through the car stereo. loved it as we made a long trip to norcal this weekend and had plenty of music to listen to. this was especially helpful since the CD player wouldn't accept all of the CDs i tried to put in the player. i have an iPod that needs to be updated, but the small rca plug should work just fine with it, too. it's a great way to always have my music with me, especially for long trip car trips.

starting in high school, there should be classes that offer kids a chance to pursue non-academic careers, like being a mechanic, truck driver, landscaper, etc., noble work the benefits all of us. not everyone is cut out to sit in a classroom, and there's nothing wrong with that. some type of trade school for kids who are inclined to go that route would be a very helpful alternative to traditional colleges and universities. there are programs out there now, but they often have a look of being some kind of cheap alternative for those who don't know where to turn. polish them up and push them harder.

stayed at a hotel in mountain view friday night. the clerks at the front desk were sharks fans and were talking about joe thornton when i walked in. couldn't hide my smile. to say they were resigned to not winning a cup anytime soon would be pretty accurate.

the new white jerseys look good. a lot more personality in them. read an article that said many in vancouver were glad to see kessler go. very negative article that really praised what the canucks got for the long term, but that the ducks win for the short term. as always, will be interesting to see how this one plays out. i like kessler and would love to have him on the kings.

being out of town this weekend, i wasn't able to update my team. got hosed for it, too. i had rose and whoever it was that finished fifth sitting on my bench. sigh.
