    my grandfather used to keep a bottle of whiskey by his bed and take a nip every night before hitting the rack. he gave his whiskey a name - called it Cy - and would tell us "well, i think it's time to go say goodnight to Cy. see you boys in the morning. be good to your mother."

    no one really explained why other than to say he's never been the highest paid guy on any of his teams. it wouldn't matter to most players, i'd think, but it matters to some. maybe it matters to him.

    An impotent president. A stagnant, ineffective congress that is so out of touch and often seems more concerned about keeping their jobs than doing their jobs. Voters that don't show up or keep re-electing the same terrible reps to congress election after election after election. There's more than enough blame to divide between these three.

    He came to our school several years ago and spoke for an assembly. What a tremendous story his was. He shook hands with Hitler after his race. His son was a member of the band ELO, iirc.

    I watched a bit last night, also. I was surprised at how very few players on either team had a playoff beard. Btw, gilmour was a punk. Couldn't stand him. Loved Sandstrom. Had such a wicked wrist shot.

    i've been to that Hat location, but only once. wasn't able to finish the three-inch thick cheese sandwich or the 18 lbs. of french fries they put in the grocery bag with the sandwich.
