    one big difference here is that these are Christians being persecuted for their faith. that plays big over here and many in this country have a vested interested in the outcome.

    there's a ton of actual news and (thank goodness) very little commentary so far. i like watching it to get just simple, straightforward news. i don't care much for CNN or fox news, so this fills a need for me. they could use some help with their graphics and some presentation nuances.

    the UN has been famously quiet so far. this seems to be the kind of situation where they normally step up with something to contribute. we're gonna have to go back in, and i just don't see any way around that. this is a world crisis, and we need to step up. marines, special forces, green berets, rangers, SEALS - whoever.
