my back up was to my computer. i had to do a sync of my calendar, but it wouldn't sync my contacts until i registered my email addresses, which also restored my notes. i had to restore my purchased music from iTunes, but that was simple enough. the only thing i'm truly bummed about is that all of my angry bird scores have been wiped out (stop judging me) and i've got to go back to zero on every single one of them. i had 3 stars on about 99% of the levels, so this will be a lot of work if i choose to give it another go.

this completely discounts the injuries during the last four years, something that's completely out of his control. also out of his control were some of the personnel on the team. dipoto was clearly not reagins in this regard. could he have done more with what the weak talent pool he had in those four years? maybe, but they were nowhere close to being a playoff contender because there were problems with the team that were out of his control (injured kendrys, poor hitting from pujols and hamilton, a crappy bullpen, underperforming players, etc.).

went in to get my new battery this afternoon. something happened during install and according to the blue t-shirt guy, my phone was damaged. no explanation of what or how. solution? they gave me a new phone. can't complain about that. only issue now is transferring all of the old stuff (contacts, apps, pictures, etc) to the new phone. gonna be a long afternoon/evening since apparently i didn't have things as backed up as i thought i had.

i think this point too often gets overlooked in how the team performed from 2010-2013. you can only go so far with what you have. i also think too many people here got too yankee-like after the teams success 02-09.

Not an overpay to get Street. Look at how nearly perfect he's been with us plus the fact none of are on the white knuckle roller coaster in the 9th anymore. If in three years Street is a ghost and the guys traded to San Diego are leading them consistently into the playoffs every year, we can revisit this. But as it stands now, not even close to an overpay.

This is an absolute low risk move, and I like it for them. I wouldn't expect Dunn plays full time, though. The plus side for the A's is bringing in this huge gigantic power bat off the bench late in the game. He's always a threat to go deep. If he hits two or three late inning homers to help them win, that could be a huge, huge difference maker. Whether or not it's a desperation move doesn't matter. If he helps them win a few more games and is available for the playoffs, advantage A's.
