  1. i've worked with steve in the past. he's a good guy and very helpful. there's a guy there named mathan who's a real tool. i wouldn't want anything from him. he's been extremely rude to me in the past.
  2. negatory, ghost rider. i did pick up renters insurance today. too little too late, but if they decide to come back, it'll help.
  3. poulter seems like the kind of guy that would make you tap in every single putt, just so he can piss you off. i'm expecting a lot of gamesmanship from him. reed seems like a hothead that would be unnerved kind of easily. spieth just looks tired.
  4. they still haven't engraved last year's championship team names on it yet. i got to touch the 2012 engraving and really wanted to do the same for last year. guess i'll have to wait until next summer's cup celebration to do that.
  5. i need to buy one (maybe two, but not yet). short of paying full retail price at an apple store, and realizing my educator discount is a pretty laughable thing, anyone have a place they can recommend for buying a good quality mac, new or used?
  6. i've never understood the logic of putting your phone in your back pocket. that just seems like a recipe for disaster since phones aren't designed to bend. but it's mostly a chick thing, too, so maybe that's their herd mentality at work here.
  7. been changing passwords today. had one that i've used since 1997. headed to the social security office after work today to fix that mess. i also need to go to AAA and check our car insurance policy to see if it covers replacing key fobs. the punk stole the one for my new car and i had to get it reprogrammed yesterday for only $125. they also took the spare remote for my wife's car, which is 11 years old. we're not quite as worried about that one, but she parks on the street and it would suck to have it stolen. she's been parking elsewhere the last couple of days.
  8. if this place is in irvine, you should probably avoid it. http://www.aol.com/article/2014/09/25/contaminated-sushi-may-have-caused-parasites-to-take-over-mans/20967808/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl8%7Csec1_lnk1%26pLid%3D535686
  9. i'm choosing not to watch any sportscenter episodes this weekend.
  10. i was in college in norcal. there was an angels affiliate out of fresno that had a weak signal that wandered in and out all night. fortunately we were able to hear drysdale's call clearly as the game ended.

  12. spieth/reed. yikes, not expecting much from these two. hope desperately that i'm wrong.
  13. he probably uses yelp, also. what a dork.
  14. i don't think we use pounds anymore in the US.
  15. he probably waters his lawn in the middle of a hot afternoon.
  16. build it just north of ventura/oxnard. no one will even notice.
  17. we tried it almost immediately after getting home. every one of our devices is listed as "offline". i've gone back and checked several times since then, including when i couldn't sleep last night at 2:30. still no luck. was really hoping this app would help us, but so far no luck. thanks for the advice, however.
  18. was really wishing i had a german shepherd yesterday. the identity theft potential is pretty bad and a giant pain to fix, but even worse is knowing that someone went through all of your dresser drawers. seeing that your socks and underwear have been pushed around is a very weird feeling. happy to say they left my Kings stuff alone. that right there tells me this was probably some little soccer fan.
  19. literally. someone broke into our home yesterday while we were at work/school and rifled through the house. they stole two laptops, an ipad, the spare keys to our cars, and some other things. been to the car dealer to fix our issue with the stolen key and get everything re-programmed. been on the phone this afternoon with the credit reporting agencies to get an alert put on our accounts. have to still go to a few places to get accounts settled or put on other alerts. concerned about identity theft right now as much as anything else. all the things on our computers (pictures mainly but also our contacts) are on the cloud and easy enough to replace on a new computer, minus four videos my daughter shot at the one direction concert two weeks ago. we are renters and don't have renters insurance, something i'm about to regret deeply. police came out and took pictures for their report. the CSI guys came out this morning and dusted for fingerprints. the hassle of going through all of this is pretty aggravating. this is a moment that's really testing my ability to forgive. i'll get there, but i'm definitely not there right now. i hope this punk gets caught and is successfully prosecuted. picking the home of a family that has no valuables, no money, and no jewelry was probably not his best move.

  21. "This week's student boycott of classes is the latest civil disobedience campaign in Hong Kong which has been seen a series of rallies over the issue of electoral reform. The students' ability to mobilise thousands to fight for democracy has made their support an increasingly important driver of the city's burgeoning civil disobedience movement." this will be worth watching.
