back in the 70s and 80s, the networks would hire announcers like vin scully and joe garagiola. they were excellent together. i'd like to see baseball go back to hiring teams like that for the post-season. ernie johnson works best as a studio host, like brent musberger. putting him as the lead play by play guy doesn't work, just like it doesn't for musberger.

you always want to treat some of those seasons as if the team was healthy and had all the necessary components to win. i want to remind you that wasn't the case, and it's disingenuous to suggest otherwise.

i think a 4.5 era is what you get with 6ip and 3er allowed. that's a quality start, and i think pretty much all of us here would take that from wilson (just not in the first inning).

yeah, vegas, i don't really thing there's a better explanation than that. when the raiders played here, the black and silver was really popular with the gangs and the wannabes. you always saw tons of hats and jackets. in fact, you can still see quite a few here even though the raiders have been gone since '95. jim hill still covers them near the top of his sunday sports show, too. i hate it.
