  1. indianoplis i'll do the rest of my picks friday.
  2. no mention of lifeguards or commemorative patches. it's like we don't even know you anymore.
  3. new CEO has apologized to him. he's suing for big bucks, plus getting his job back. http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2014/10/09/comcast-sorry-it-got-a-customer-fired-over-a-billing-dispute/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl22%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D543106
  4. this is probably some guy who went to vegas last march and in a drunken binge, put down $1000 on the orioles meeting the royals in the ALCS.
  5. strads, my ears, eyes, and heart hurt a little bit.
  6. i feel like a part of my soul has died because, like everyone else, i know that my elected leaders lie to me constantly and worse yet, think nothing of it. how in the world did we get to this point?
  7. liked both of these guys very much. wish mike + the mechanics had recorded more. peter gabriel was always very creative.
  8. just think, in a few years, this could be you, brother.
  9. it's a google society these days. kids want to be able to simply type in a name or word, get the info to complete an assignment, and move on. absorbing information so that your general knowledge increases is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. it's why jimmy kimmel's man on the street interviews and jay leno's jay walking were so wildly awful - people don't know squat anymore.
  10. we're doing a little research on benedict arnold in my 8th grade history class. i've had 5 or 6 kids come up to me with an encyclopedia, volume B, saying they couldn't find him anywhere. oy vey.
  11. i roomed with a guy who went to law school. i work about 40 hours/week.
  12. a married couple that i went to college with recently ended their medical missionary work in nigeria after some 25 years there. he was chief of staff at the adventist hospital in country. things deteriorated there politically so they decided it was best for them to finally leave. gail, the wife, comes from a missionary family - her parents served for a couple of decades in peru. herb, the husband, also comes from a missionary family. their two daughters couldn't stand being away from nigeria - it's where they were raised and it was home to them. it's been a tough transition for the girls to move to the US for the first time in their lives. gail and herb did a lot of quality medical work in their area (Ile Ife was the name, as i recall). adventists have a long history of medical missionary work in africa and india, as well as in the pacific islands. we've always thought our reputation was solid, healing mind and soul. i hope others think the same thing.
  13. yeah, they've been nothing but flat tonight. meh, shake it off and get ready for game 2.
  14. but but but he's coming off wrist surgery!
  15. it seems like this kind of car would work best if all the other cars on the road were the same kind of car. as long as there are human drivers, something like this won't really work on the kind and loving freeways of a place like LA.
  16. in a press conf last year, sutter said their three goals were to get into the playoffs, get 100 points, and win the cup. they did exactly that. this kings team has proved they can win anywhere under any circumstances, so winning the division isn't the highest priority for them. how much that serves as inspiration for other teams is anyone's guess. it works for us, and that's all that really matters.
  17. what happens to trout's stolen base totals if you bat him leadoff and hit calhoun second?
  18. DR, i had forgotten about the bill of goods they sold us on prop 30, and then a day or two after the election brownie revealed it was going to raise taxes and they knew it all along. thanks for reminding me/us. once again, ladies and gents, i urge you to stop voting for incumbents for sacramento. our legislature really blows.
  19. reagan was a two-term governor, also.
