in honor of percy, i think there was something comforting about seeing the abbreviation POS in his movie reviews.

there is nothing moral about a practice that doesn't involve due process. we are a nation of laws, and this should not exist in the way that it is currently being used. i can't see the good from this practice. it might be there in some form, but when joe citizen is screwed over by the police without any kind of due process, i just can't see the good in any of it. for that one attorney to say that "we're only doing what the state supreme court has told us we can do" is the modern equivalent of "hey, it's not me that wants to fire you. it was the committee's decision." it's crap, and everyone knows it.

someone needs to come up with a simple ad campaign that says something like "net neutrality means using the internet will continue to be a free service instead of a pay service." i'm guessing most people don't really know what it is.

my wife used to be the secretary at my school. she'd tell how sometimes the female teachers would really snipe at each other. one of the common things they'd say was stuff like "mrs. wilson wasn't very nice to me this morning. i think she might be having her period today."

my wife and i both yelled at the screen when he came on. my second thought (holy crap, batman! was my first one) was someone on aw.com was going to take credit for his resurrection today and post "see, i told you he wasn't dead." that was really well done.

i think for some people it's a bucket list kind of thing. i never got to see elton john in his prime, but i've seen him a couple of times since (in the 90s), and it was worth going. same with billy joel back in '99. they couldn't hit the high notes like in their younger days, but it was special to see them live. i saw that neil diamond is touring again, and am not going. wife and i saw him around 1990 and he was already old then. now? scary as all get out. i agree with the comment about the stones. i don't want to see 75 year old rock stars. i would only make an exception for paul mccartney.

i think frisbee golf is a lot more interesting.
