for my african american friends, this is INDEED a racial issue. there is also a justice issue to it, but for them it's been an absolute racial issue.

i never have had an issue with people protesting peacefully. in fact, i appreciate their passion to do so, and we know it can have an impact. but i take great issue with protestors who shut down streets and freeways. your right to protest does not trump any of my rights. i don't see any positives in blocking people as they drive.

you can always remind her that her place is in the home and she shouldn't be working. and then tell her to go make you a sandwich.

i probably deserved that. what struck me in watching the trailer was the fact that people were as calm and casual as if they were at disneyland or sea world. couldn't let go of that point for some reason.

just heard tonight that former coach pat quinn died yesterday at the age of 71. i believe it was from cancer. lots of players had lots of good things to say about him. i liked it a lot when he was hired here, and thought it would lead to some really positive things. he left with his tail between his legs after the league suspended him for accepting a job as the coach and gm of the leafs (i think) for the next year while still coaching the kings this year. he was the one who called rob blake to tell him he'd been elected to the hall of fame.

you know how certain schools always have a great reputation, even in down years? well, there ya go. playing one of the greats is never a bad thing.

i haven't seen anyone like al or jesse talk about it yet, but on cnn this morning there have been several black leaders who have talked about how many locals were trying to calm the crowd last night. they were unhappy over outsiders coming in to ferguson and trying to destroy a community of which they weren't a part, and didn't have any problem condemning the unnecessary violence that happened.

michael brown's family attorney stated that no one has had to take responsibility for shooting the boy. what about michael brown for charging back towards a police officer? why didn't this kid comply when told to stop? one of the greatly disturbing aspects of all the protests is that the protestors don't seem to think brown bears any responsibility in any of this (which goes back to my oversimplification point). if i've learned nothing else over the years, i've learned that if/when a police officer tells me to stop, i'm going to stop.

has anyone done this? can it be done? how do you do it/what apps do you use? after reading the other thread about how icons and the screen can be customized on the galaxy, i've wondered if the iPhone can also be customized.

cnn reporting that the physical evidence supported the eyewitness accounts that mike brown was shot, turned around, and went back towards the officer ( a distance of 21.5 ft).

some reporters have had people throw things at them. some people have run up to live mics and yelled profanities.
