    i think innovation and creativity both serve important purposes. look at what the baby boomers created. innovative and creative. do you see the millenials doing the same kinds of things? they might be stronger in computer skills, but they are not in a very good place when it comes to solving problems.

    cause and effect: fewer art/music/theater classes, poorer ability to be creative and to problem solve. i think we need of these classes. kids have tactile needs, and art is definitely one class that can address that. i'd also like to see photography offered as a requirement.

    valid point. i think we've all seen a tremendous amount of lazy parenting over the last twenty years. kids aren't as creative because their parents want to do so much of everything for them. it's like every parent has become a little league parent. back off and let the kids figure out some thing for themselves.

    my dad did toastmasters in taiwan while he lived there. ended up meeting his future second wife. fifteen years later, they're still married.

    something that i think is very important is missing from so many kids today - creativity. they depend on technology to entertain them so very, very much these days, and their own creativity suffers in the process. it prevents them being good problem solvers, also, even for simple things. if a kid forgets to bring a pencil to class, so many of them have no idea what to do next. it's terrifying to watch this happen over and over again.

    if jay leno or jon stewart tells that pelosi joke, maybe it's funny. lindsay graham did not tell it in a funny way, and i think that disqualifies it from being a joke. it comes off sounding more like a personal attack. i blame obama. and ISIS.

    the blackhawks red jersey is right up there with this one for me. two teams that got it right and left well enough alone.

    the kings scored three goals in the shootout tonight, which is more than they've scored all season long in all previous shootouts. that's literally craptastic.
