when i was a kid, i pulled just as much for the Reds as i did for the Angels, my connection being that we lived in ohio for a while. i think i was more passionate for the reds then because of the big red machine and the fact that they were winning while the halos kept spinning their tires in the mud. my friends and i would always wonder when it was going to be the angels turn. i think where the switch for me really came was when i discovered online message boards in the 90s and the emergence of tim salmon, plus the retirement of johnny bench. that might make me sound a bit bandwagonish, but i don't care. the reds will always hold a special place in my fandom, but the halos are my team.

i have friends whose AL team is the angels and their NL team is the dodgers. they love both equally.

i believe there are some crimes that are so heinous that those who commit them surrender their right to live among us. i'm okay with the death penalty as long as it's proved beyond a shadow of a doubt.

the best way to deal with any treaty the president negotiates is not to ratify it in the senate, which is their constitutional duty/right/privilege. to send a letter is yet another log of on the "we hate this president and won't cooperate with him" fire. of course, the president has been doing the same to congress via his executive orders, so we have a tit-for-tat going on.

it would put the saints in full rebuilding mode. they've been pretty awful the last two seasons, so strategically maybe this is a good time to reload.

seems like an unnecessary use of technology to me, to be honest. i don't think there's anything you can do with this watch that you can't do already on a phone, and the phone has a much bigger format. i can't imagine trying to use my big meaty fingers on a screen the size of a watch. very impractical.
