    Th troubling part of this equation s that after we've done our homework on the candidates, when they take office it's immediately right in to voting the party line. This is where it's broken. What happened to men and women of conscience and courage? Why aren't they willing to stand up for what is in our best interests, even if they stand alone?

    Miranda says if you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you. It's equally shameful it took two whole days for that to happen. And what about the jail/lockup not doing their due diligence? What a nightmare.

    Would love to have more people participating. Maybe Barry is right and the sheer volume of those voting will counteract the influence of lobbyists. It's worth a try. But if his goal is simply to keep his party in a position of power, that seems contradictory to the whole process, does it not? And yes, I know all politicians want to keep their own party in power.

    It hurts to watch the lack of morality or respect displayed here by the girl and her friends. Nothing here says this attack was justifiable, and the friends didn't do anything to stop what certainly looks like an unnecessary act.

    So she could be charged with attempted murder, but not murder, simply because this was a fetus? Stupid. No wonder our legal system has problems.

    We've been in Seattle for a week. My buddy, who's not all into sports, finally says today "there sure are a lot of people here who like the post office." Whaddaya mean, Rob? "Well I keep seeing the logo on cars for the eagle symbol of the post office." " uh, Rob, we're in Seattle. All those logos are for the local NFL team, the Seahawks."

    I just assumed most of them would be flat-billed bros or Asian women. Pleasantly surprised at the variety.

    What better way to use restorative discipline than to make the punishment fit the crime. If you make mess somewhere, you get to clean something. Might teach them a bit more respect for service people at the school, like the custodians. Of course, these are parents that want everyone to have a trophy and kids are punished with timeouts.
