  1. one of my colleagues at work is allergic to a ton of things but doesn't have celiac. she's been eating gluten free for several months now and says she feels better.
  2. Like Betty White, my dad is also older than sliced bread.
  3. But but but we have to switch to summer blend!
  4. If I'm hitting against him, that's exactly what I'd try to do on every single at bat from now on.
  5. Kids are on summer break when the nba finals are played. Not so with the World Series.
  6. you have to have a lot of patience to watch baseball. there are nuances and subtleties that take a different kind of attention than football, basketball or hockey. i don't think nearly as many kids today have the patience required to settle in and watch.
  7. when i had kings season tickets, there was a guy that sat in front of us that we got to know. one game, he's got this styrofoam cup of black goo. my brother and i saw it and had no idea what it was . . . until we saw him pick it up and spit into it. disgusting beyond words. got a brief whiff of the smell, too - oh my, no bueno.
  8. if there was one or two isolated things, i'd be more inclined to think it's just the enemies that are after hilary. but trouble for her seems to involve so many things, and it shows a pattern of acting recklessly. i think a lot of the support she gets is still the sympathy vote from when bill had cigar time with monica.
  9. i've thought espn has done a decent job of giving you guys credit. melrose certainly has. i understand there's some fascination with the playoffs returning to winnipeg for the first time in a long while, but i thought they did a good job of recognizing how good your team is, considering it's espn. i don't have the nhl network, but i'd bet they've given you plenty of love.
  10. they look strong. they'll be tough to beat, although i thought pittsburgh would put up more of a fight.
  11. this is from a libertarian website, i believe, and it's slighted towards that viewpoint. but it raises some interesting questions about our increasingly militarized police departments. http://www.truthandaction.org/police-state-federal-judge-rules-police-can-take-home-see-fit/
  12. i've felt this way for years. it's silly to wait until 8:30 (or later) to start a world series game. look at how popular baseball was when all the world series games were day games.
  13. "seriously, dude, we can outrun it! we're not in any danger!"
  14. my mom's side of the family live mostly around peoria, illinois. we know them by name but i haven't seen most of them since 1992 when my grandmother died. they don't really travel outside of that area, and they never come this way. when we there in '80, my mom's oldest brother decided to leave on vacation one day after we arrived. could have left any time he wanted, but chose to leave then. it left an impression. one of my cousins went to law school here at pepperdine. was here for three years and never called us once. didn't know he was even out here until his third year of school. pretty much sums up my relationship with most of my cousins from that branch of the family tree. my dad's side was much smaller. my aunt and uncle and my three cousins lived two blocks away from us so we saw them quite a bit - except for holidays. my dad and his brother argued constantly and ruined the only thanksgiving we spent together. i rarely see these cousins anymore but we keep in touch via facebook.
  15. they want this to be someone else's fault.
  16. leave him alone, IP. calzone isn't happy unless he's miserable.
  17. 5 out of 6 tv viewers are white, and the average age of viewers is 53. if he's right, that's kind of scary.
  18. my nieces in nebraska never had a spring break. they always got one day off, but the flip side was that they were finished with school by about may 20.
