    i missed seeing most of regulation play, but the three overtime periods were amazing to watch. what a show. this series has the potential to be really amazing.

    i like that they're doing it gradually, a dollar a year. that seems a lot more smarter than doing it all in one fell swoop, which i'm sure is what all these 19 year olds were hoping for.

    i think this is more unknown than underrated. it's a love song to cape breton, canada. i just heard it for the first time last friday, and i can't get it out of my mind. it's by the canadian tenors, and it's moving.

    I think raising (or lowering) their salaries ought to be something the voters control. They have the lowest approval rating in my lifetime and never work together on anything substantive. I'm also suspicious that most of them haven't had to worry about their finances like most of us in recent years. They can go pound sand.

    Boy, the Lightning hammered them tonight. This Johnson kid is pretty darn good, and he's an excellent complement to Stamkos.

    I'm teaching one this year. Nice kid. I think her dad is an old school rock fan from the 70s. Looks like he went to his fair share of deep purple and Rolling Stones concerts. And yes, Nate - the stones still suck.

    my first year of teaching, my very first day, i'm calling roll for one of the 9th grade classes. i called one girl sharon, even though it was spelled charon. she looked up at me and said "it's sha-RON!" like i was supposed to know that.
